Teacher effectiveness: Ineffective
November 06, 2015
There are a few teachers that actually care if the student is learning. The majority of the teachers have too many students in each class and are more concerned that it "appears" students are learning.

Amount of homework: Not enough

8th grade and virtually NO homework. It will be a rude awakening in high school.

Develops grit: Strongly disagree

Students have to put in minimal effort to achieve A's and B's. If a student doesn't want to do an assignment, the teacher lets them color papers or something else equally useless to bring up their grade.

Develops honesty: Disagree

Grades are changed by many of the teachers to make it look as though the students are learning.

I would NOT recommend this school to anyone that wants their child to succeed. My son is in 8th grade, RARELY if ever has homework and gets mostly B's. They don't care if the children learn and are just pushing them through. My son's best friend just got a zero on a math test. The teacher told him, "I know you really know how to do the work" and changed his grade to an A. How are they supposed to succeed in high school?

The demographics of this area have been changing and unfortuately it is negatively impacting the school scores..There are some excellent, caring teachers in this school.

There is such a big transition going from elementary school to junior high. I don't know who was more nervous, my son or me and his father. So far, everything is going great. He thinks all his teachers are great, and really seems to enjoy school. What more can you ask for.

I go to this school and quite frankly, I love it! Sure the teachers can be very strict, they are just doing their jobs and may have a creative way of teaching. I had a teacher here that was loud and had a very, harsh sense of humor. Her words never offended us though. I will never forget any of the lessons in that class because of the way she taught it. Middle school kids are a big burden on them, trust me. I have read some of the horrible review this school got and I don't agree with them. The parents can think what they want to think, but us kids should have an opinion too. Through this review I am not trying to get extra credit in class, I just want everyone to know, this is a great school.

This school had a horribile change on my kids personality. The teachers were constantly yelling, for nothing that happened. This school i would HIGHLY not recommend.
