Love this school! Everything about it - from the Principal to teachers, student body and parent involvement is exceptional! My child is an "out of district transfer student" and was welcomed into the school with open arms. One of the few schools that I've experienced (and I'm in education) that puts the individual academic growth of each student before "ISTEP" numbers. Strong, effective Leadership, quality teachers, small student population, state-of-the-art technology centers really set this school apart. Plenty of sports, clubs and extracurricular activities too. Best kept secret in Porter County School District! Would highly recommend!!!

i am an 8th grader at boone grove middle school. there are actually a lot of things that i think are wrong about the school. the teachers dont give enough work time. theres nothing but drama at our school. i feel like because of the stupid mistakes in students at school, then give our school a bad reputation. and let me tell you... i feel we have that reputation.

As a parent of a sixth grade student, I feel the transition from elementary to middle has gone smoothly. I have found the teachers to be very accessible, and firm but fair. My child feels successful and that each teacher cares about her as a person. The office staff is friendly and helpful. Adminstrators are kid-friendly and my child interacts with them often in a positive way. I am pleased with the education my child is getting at BGMS.

average

Our rating (from 1 to 10) reflects a school's overall performance. The higher the rating, the more likely the school will prepare your child for the future, so choose an above-average school (8-10) if possible. For average schools (4-7), do careful research and look for evidence that the school has high-quality programs. For below-average schools (1-3), take caution; a low-performing school may not provide the instruction or environment your child needs to learn, and you may need to supplement classroom lessons at home.

Academic rating

The academic rating is made up of equally-weighted parts: students' test scores, their academic growth (for elementary and middle schools) and their readiness for college (for high schools). The graphs below compare this school's results in each area to other schools in the city and state. Growth and college readiness ratings are coming soon, pending publication of 2012 data.
