Wonderful school! I have three kids that are attending, I have no complaints. If my kids had to go to a city school, they would be home-schooled. Mt. Carmel is not only a good school but those who do not like it, would have problems anywhere they sent their kids. Mt. Carmel ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mt. Carmel has been a great school for my son. If people don't care for the laid back country attitude - I would suggest staying in the city. The staff is very involved with the parents and the children. Franklin county also has extremely low taxes compared to other counties in Indiana and especially compared to larger city rates. I grew up and attended school in Cincinnati-needless to say, I am VERY greatful for a school like Mt. Carmel for my son. Christina Palm
This is a great school. They are very personal with each individual child and have a wonderful staff.
I have nothing but great things to say about this school. All 3 of my children went from K-8th here. I love the fact that it is a small school and has a laid back attitude. Isn't that why people live in the country? I have never had any problems with the teachers or principal. I think they are wonderful caring people. In response to the other review posted April 2004, I would just like to say that if you want your children to go to a school where there is no bullying, no fundraisers, and no taxes, good luck!
This school needs to be brought up to modern times in my opinion. This area is growing with families coming in from cities and are not used to the laid back attitude of this school. I have had several problems with my child when it comes to the teachers and the principal not caring. There is a lot of bullying that goes on in this school that would not be going on in a big city. In my opinion the state needs to take a good long look at the school and make some major changes. Also, they are constantly wanted parents to do fund raisers when our taxes are high enough. My family has $1200 dollars a year that goes to just the school. I think that we already pay our fair share for our kids.
