Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

I love that Fairhaven Baptist Academy has a strong foundation in the Bible, and educates leaders. The children are taught from the beginning all of the basics that they need to truly succeed in life, as well as important life lessons that they will use for years to come. In these days of mediocre academics, I know that I can count on Fairhaven Baptist Academy to give the best to my students.

In one word, Fairhaven Baptist Academy is "excellent". The staff strives for excellence in every area. Teachers are encouraged to continue their studies to better enable and inform the students. The curriculum is well-rounded, and the school setting is structured. My son began school here in K3 and came home with learning skills. He didn't just color all day and play with blocks. The teacher's goal was to begin his training as soon as he entered the classroom. My son is now entering third grade, and we are excited for what is in store for him. Thank you Fairhaven Baptist Academy for your desire for excellence.

My daughter attends Fairhaven Baptist Academy and she really loves to go to school! I have complete trust in the staff as they teach and take care of her. Her teacher takes time to prepare the lessons and think through how to teach each individual child. They genuinely care about her life. It is a relief to know that the staff is not concerned about getting paid more... but that they actually love what they are doing!

I really like this school. There is a high level of communication between parents and teachers. I know they are always striving to maintain the highest level of education for our children, adjusting where possible. They are in pursuit of God-honoring education for each of the students.

I am very thankful for the education I received at Fairhaven. Unlike my sister who got an "A" in Trigonometry, I always struggled in Math. Although I had to take Algebra I twice, I'm glad that my teacher didn't just push me through. She gave me the grade I deserved, which in turn, made me try that much harder. She also spent many many hours with me after school helping me with my homework. To this day, I am thankful that she was so dedicated and patient with me.

Students acheive a high degree of leaning in a safe, disciplined environment. School encourages a large ammount of parental involvment and pushes students to be all they can be for the Lord.

I attended Fairhaven from 5th grade through 12th grade and loved every minute of it!!! While I was at school I was encouraged to learn as much as I could and to put my heart into everything I did, and I believe that it was because of my years there that I excelled in college and was able to graduate with a 4.0! I see what others around me learned and accomplished in their years at a public school, and am so thankful that my parents had the wisdom to enroll me at Fairhaven Baptist Academy. The staff is so devoted and committed! The reason I chose to be a teacher was because of the great influence of my teachers there. I would encourage any parent to place their children in this school--they will come out of there with a stellar education!

My five children attended the Academy from kindergarten through the 12th grade and graduated from the Academy. They all received an excellent education. I am very pleased with the high standards of academics and character building in the school. The teachers are well-trained and are genuinely concerned that each student will strive to be the best he can be in his life in order to glorify God.

I am an alumnus of Fairhaven and I can tell you that they school's discipline is based on humiliation and corporal punishment. They are not accredited, they do not teach any useful skills. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN to this school.

I would not send my child to this school based on what I experienced while attending college for four years there. The leadership places so much pressure on young people to "do right" and "be right with God", but their preaching is not accompanied by love and guidance, and the atmosphere of the school is one of judgemental piety and false righteousness. I always felt looked down upon and never good enough, though I was a "good kid" and chosen by staff to represent the college in a traveling singing ensemble. When minor infractions are blown out of proportion and children are spanked with a large paddle in front of their classmates for things so accidental as dropping a pencil on the floor, I don't believe anyone should be subjecting their children to the kind of "education" Fairhaven is selling.

WATCH CNN PIECE SEPT 22, 2011. I attended here for two years. This piece is the tip of the iceberg. Please do not send your children there.

This school has a terrible English program, no computer classes, no foreign language class. They are not accredited and students spend many years in pre requirement if they choose to go to a state college. -Class of '98

If you are going to go to their College and be a Preacher, this is the place for you. If not, don't waste your time and money!

Horrible! I would never send my children to a school where they get humiliated by the teachers & principal. They are the most self righteous people I've ever met.

I attended school for 8 years at Fairhaven. It was horrible to say the least!!! They are not accredited, so transferring schools or attending a college other than Fairhaven College (also not accredited) is a nightmare, if not impossible. I had to spend hundreds of dollars on prep classes and many, many hours just to get my GED so I could attend another college. The discipline is outrageous. Talking in the hallway, out of line, touching the wall, not saying "Sir" or "Ma'am", and not have a pencil are just a few minor offenses that will lead to you getting demerits. After 10 demerits, students in kindergarten through 6th grade are spanked in front of their class; high school student must work hours of detention around the property. Please watch the CNN piece from 9/22/11 about the school

This school has a 93% success rate! My children have been going to this school for 4 years and I am very pleased at the improvement they have had since. The teachers and staff genuinely love my children and do everything they can to help them. I know I can always go to the principal or teachers with my concerns and get the problem solved. The children are taught respect, discipline, how to work, and much more and I would put them up against any public school student anywhere!

Not accredited. Agregious discipline for minor acts, not necesarily defiance or rebellion. Withholding transcripts or even loss of transcripts for no reason or to punish former student. Super heavy use of candy sales 2 times a year causing much school to be lost (candy selling is done much of the time during school hours). Take note of the CNN report recently aired.

Take note that there is a special report on CNN about this school. I strongly recommend that anyone deciding whether to send their children to this school seek out this report with the title "Ex-students describe brutality at school" on the CNN website and watch it.

I went to this school from 1st through 12th grade, and I could not have more happy with it. It offers a great learning environment. It is great for any parent who wants their child to attend a school where they will get the best education possible, in a calm and orderly environment. In regards to the academics, students are pushed and encouraged to succeed, by teachers who love their students and their job. The graduates here could be compared to those of any of the best schools in the country and be able to hold their own. Even if your student has a learning disability or just has a hard time picking up on things, extra time will be put into their personal education, whether with a private tutor or just extra time by the teacher. As far as the environment, it is a calm and structured environment that is geared toward the proper training of the children and teenagers there. As the parent of a student at Fairhaven, you will always be encouraged to voice any issue or problem that you may have; the teachers and principal are always eager to help or explain. Although having been out of school for several years now, I have never regretted that my parents chose to send me to this school.

i attended fairhaven for 13 years and let me say if a military school is what you are looking for this might work for you although howe military acadamy would be a wiser investment. If education is what you search for get a public one you cant get better then that. simply put save some money and heartache and avoid this school!!
