My five children attended the Academy from kindergarten through the 12th grade and graduated from the Academy. They all received an excellent education. I am very pleased with the high standards of academics and character building in the school. The teachers are well-trained and are genuinely concerned that each student will strive to be the best he can be in his life in order to glorify God.

Fantastic! Great academics and good discipline. I am a parent, and I also volunteer, and we love our school.

I am an alumnus of Fairhaven and I can tell you that they school's discipline is based on humiliation and corporal punishment. They are not accredited, they do not teach any useful skills. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN to this school.

I would not send my child to this school based on what I experienced while attending college for four years there. The leadership places so much pressure on young people to "do right" and "be right with God", but their preaching is not accompanied by love and guidance, and the atmosphere of the school is one of judgemental piety and false righteousness. I always felt looked down upon and never good enough, though I was a "good kid" and chosen by staff to represent the college in a traveling singing ensemble. When minor infractions are blown out of proportion and children are spanked with a large paddle in front of their classmates for things so accidental as dropping a pencil on the floor, I don't believe anyone should be subjecting their children to the kind of "education" Fairhaven is selling.

WATCH CNN PIECE SEPT 22, 2011. I attended here for two years. This piece is the tip of the iceberg. Please do not send your children there.

This school has a terrible English program, no computer classes, no foreign language class. They are not accredited and students spend many years in pre requirement if they choose to go to a state college. -Class of '98

If you are going to go to their College and be a Preacher, this is the place for you. If not, don't waste your time and money!

Horrible! I would never send my children to a school where they get humiliated by the teachers & principal. They are the most self righteous people I've ever met.

I attended school for 8 years at Fairhaven. It was horrible to say the least!!! They are not accredited, so transferring schools or attending a college other than Fairhaven College (also not accredited) is a nightmare, if not impossible. I had to spend hundreds of dollars on prep classes and many, many hours just to get my GED so I could attend another college. The discipline is outrageous. Talking in the hallway, out of line, touching the wall, not saying "Sir" or "Ma'am", and not have a pencil are just a few minor offenses that will lead to you getting demerits. After 10 demerits, students in kindergarten through 6th grade are spanked in front of their class; high school student must work hours of detention around the property. Please watch the CNN piece from 9/22/11 about the school

This school has a 93% success rate! My children have been going to this school for 4 years and I am very pleased at the improvement they have had since. The teachers and staff genuinely love my children and do everything they can to help them. I know I can always go to the principal or teachers with my concerns and get the problem solved. The children are taught respect, discipline, how to work, and much more and I would put them up against any public school student anywhere!
