Although there are many caring teachers, we have found out there are several (more like three or four) teachers who yell at the children. Everyone knows this is going on yet this situation has been allowed to continue. There is def a 'good ole boy' system here. The bullying situation continues also, check out their numbers (dropping) for middle school, very distinct 'groups' are allowed to alienate, tease or gossip about others. Many of these kids are teachers children. Lunch time is not monitored in the upper grades. We have lived in this town for several years, have had 2 children at this school in various grades and its just gotten worse as they aged. My husband and I are super disappointed in this. During the election there was a teacher pushing Obama on the kids, that was very unprofessional. The principal is a kind lady however just appears she gives second, third, fourth, etc chances. Office staff members are exceptionally kind. Our children will not be returning next year.

We are new to town and have 2 children in this school, we are not Catholic. Have found this school to have great teachers, caring student body, great leadership and do not push the Catholic agenda on non-denominational Christians. Very pleased at everything.

I am very pleased with the parent and teacher involvement at St. Bartholomew. Our children could not be in a better environment.

I am not only a parent of 2 boys attending school here, I am a former student and am thrilled that my kids can get the quality education that I received.

Above
average

Our rating (from 1 to 10) reflects a school's overall performance. The higher the rating, the more likely the school will prepare your child for the future, so choose an above-average school (8-10) if possible. For average schools (4-7), do careful research and look for evidence that the school has high-quality programs. For below-average schools (1-3), take caution; a low-performing school may not provide the instruction or environment your child needs to learn, and you may need to supplement classroom lessons at home.

Academic rating

The academic rating is made up of equally-weighted parts: students' test scores, their academic growth (for elementary and middle schools) and their readiness for college (for high schools). The graphs below compare this school's results in each area to other schools in the city and state. Growth and college readiness ratings are coming soon, pending publication of 2012 data.
