Amount of homework: Disagree

Math is too much homework with at least an hour of homework a night. Other classes seem to be just right.

This school allows students to get away with most things. As well as punishing the wrong students based on what other students saw instead of what a staff member saw.

I attended this school for a short while and found myself questioning my faith now more than ever. There is no solid foundation behind CCS. Although the students were welcoming, I found that many were not as educated as the students from my previous school. I would't recommend CCS to anyone. Teachers allow students to be on their cell phones almost all throughout class, and many teachers do not follow through with any punishments, nor do they follow through with anything they say.

Columbus Christian School is lacking significantly in qualified teachers. There are some that are not even licensed by the state. The academics are below state standards. The ISTEP scores are terrible for a private school. They are not a Fully Accredited school. They are what is call Freeway Accredited. There are major differences between the two that you can look up on the Indiana Dept. of Education’s website. The school is supposed to be a non-denominational Christian environment but that is not the case. The teachers and administration seem to push their own personal beliefs of Christianity onto the students as well as in the academics. The school has absolutely no Science or Technology programs that are worth mentioning. There are hardly any or very minimal electives for the older students. There is not even a school library other then what appears to be a room a little larger then a closet. They are unable to retain qualified educators that ensure consistency. This school is way behind academically and in most criteria when compared to the public schools in the area. The school needs to have better qualified leadership and most certainly retention of CERTIFIED teachers. Needless to say, our children did one year at this school and are going back to public school. This is unusual because you would think that a private Christian School would outshine the public schools in the tri-county area but that is not the case here. We sacrificed financially on false premises based on what we were told by both the Elementary and Junior High/ High School principals regarding what this school can offer. We were mislead and almost $15K later in tuition and other fees are glad we are through the school year and our children are getting put back on track academically in the public school system. This school is all about the money and there is not a time you will darken the doors of this place for any type of function without having to pay money or being asked to donate money. It was to the point that we didn’t invite family members to our children's programs due to embracement of the school constantly asking for donations. Please do your homework and research this school.

This school is dedicated to the moral and spiritual and educational upbringing of the children in the community. They endeavor to provide the best and by doing so they bring out the best in their students.

I think the school has improved in the past few years. The new leadership taken the school to a better level. I wish it had been there when my girls were there.

CCS is a GREAT school. I highly recommend CCS if you are a parent who is committed to Christian Education. Biblical principals are woven throughout the studies and throughout the day. The staff is caring and if your family is in need they would be the first to step up and help. Where else can a staff member stop class and pray with your child or other children within the class. Check out CCS!!!!! As a parent CCS welcomes your involvement and highly encourages it.
