I have a kindergartener at this school, his teacher, Miss Clark is wonderful with him.
He has grown leaps and bounds this school year. He is well on his way to mastering the requirments for first grade. He is doing well socially and emotionally.
Between this school and his classes at Koe's Taekwondo, he is achieving great things!
So glad we found this neighborhood and this school!
It is a family-school community. It is like an extended family for students during the school day. The principal, teachers, and staff all REALLY care about the students and it shows through a positive atmosphere. The principal is one of a kind and sets the tone for a great, positive atmosphere.
I have three kids in this school now and they all three love it! The principal is very caring and always willing to listen to any concerns. I always hear her complimenting the kids. All the teachers we have had so far have been great. The lines of communication are always open. Plenty of opportunities to volunteer as well.
The teacher/student ratio is way off. It is more like 25/1. While there are some good teachers, there are not enough in the school when they average 25 students per teacher. A lot of kids are falling through the cracks.
My daughter just finished her seventh year in this school (K-6). My two younger children also attned Smith. We have had wonderful, committed teachers for the duration. My children have received a quality education. The teachers they have had have gone above and beyond their requirements to make their education both challenging and beneficial. The teachers at Smith really care about the students. Couldn't ask for a better educational experience!!
