I was a student at South Central In thearly to mid '90's. My experience at this school was horrible. I was told by a teacher named Mr.Snow to shut up in class because I didn't have a future. Really "great school".
I go to school at South Central. I love attending here becuase of the size, and the admininstration are all great people. I love the everyone knows everyone feeling here.
As a graduate of this school in 2004, and a current student of one of the best schools in Indiana, Purdue University, I can honestly say as a top student in my class, South Central did a horrible job preparing me for what I would face in the future.
South Central is an excellent school. It is comprised of caring teachers, well behaved students, and a community that instills solid values in its children. The only truly missing ingredient is parents that get involved in their students academic well-being. Parental support is no problem when it comes to sports, but when it comes to academics, not many parents get involved in their kids education. If SC parents supported academics to the extent that they support the sports programs, SC would be a top notch Indiana high school. Still, it is a great school, one that the community should be proud of.
The January 2006 review comments speak volumes! I truly respect the values that are instilled by living a country upbringing...but I do think we need to hold the teachers of South Central accountable for the end-product - a well educated student prepared for college, if he/she desires to pursure such a path.
im not a parent im a student and i belive this school is GREAT.... are sports program is excellent! And pretty much every student gets good grades... Thats thanks to a lot of diff. teachers... without them pushing us to get where we are, we would probly be no where! Although we may not be able to listen to mp3 players, cd players or whatever while we are in class, but there are really good reasons for that.... im al so an athlete we dont have hot headed coaches we have coaches that care rather we are good or not.. We are SC and im very greatful and proud to be a rebel!!!! -Kay-
I'm not a parent but I am a student at South Central.I enjoy going to SC. I came from a very large school where everyone was nothing but a number, but at SC we don't have that problem. Everyone knows you, every passing period is like a family reunion. It's a small school and very close nit, but this also means more one-on-one with the teachers. Which can be great for a childs education.
Overall I am very impressed with South Centrals academics. Both of my children do very well in school and I owe thanks to their wonderful teachers. The only thing that I have a problem with is the sports program. I believe that the fun has been taken out of sports by hot headed coaches who do not care if the children are having fun they just want them to win. My son came home crying after every baseball game last season because he was never picked to be one of the 5 children that are always picked for the good positions. These coaches are supposed to be role models for our children and some of the fits I have seen them throw is definately not being role models. South Central teachers are wonderful and my children have benefited from them so much. As for sports we need more mature nonarrogant coaches.
South Central is a good school to at all the teachers are nice and help as much as they can. I would let your kids go to South Central if they want to!
South Central is a great school it rocks and we are the best! Go Rebels!
This school is all about clicks and it is the adults that determine who the in kids are, it is not anything to do with the kids grades, dress, or attitude. You can take two kids, they can do the exact same thing, and one of them will get recognized for it, and the other could get the exact opposite, or nothing at all. It is according to the mood that day. One thing is for sure, this is a warning for the kids from a parent...if you are not in the click, you had better just love school if you want to learn. Parents..if your child tells you something like, we dont have home work or anything that sounds unlikely, trust your children, chances are, they probably are telling you the truth, no matter how insane it may sound. Trust me, I could not believe it myself!
