I believe the quality of academic programs are great, but there are things that overshadow that. There is no councilor at the Junior High which leaves kids to almost fend for themselves. I am very disappointed in the lack of concern for students well-being and the lazy-deistical attitude about bullying. If it weren't for the involvement of all of us parents, a lot of this would be completely overlooked.
Jimtown schools in general are spectacular. Children have the opportunity to be placed into advanced classes if they are ahead of their classmates. Teachers are always available to help those who need extra attention as well. There are a myriad of extracurricular activities for children to be involved in as well. Despite the voice of uneducated parents, not all activities are sports related. A plethora of parents are involved with the school and the activities available. Parents have the opportunity to be advocates for their children, they simply need to take advantage of the many areas available. Jimtown is a great community.
Our mission is to inspire and support families to champion their children's education - at
school, at home and in their community. We are a national non-profit with offices and programs
in Oakland, Milwaukee, Washington D.C. and Indianapolis.
