I am a student and I would say the school is a middle class, It's not the best nor the worse. We are taking huge buget cuts and instead of the teacher complaining they just steped it up a noch. On the other hand I just wished the other students cared about school at all. We let to many kids from under achiving schools in to ours. That is what makes us middle class we put a price on every thing. Even a good learning invirenment.
Very poor. Teachers don't care and principal doesn't either.
Edgewood Junior High is a great place for my child. The quality of the teaching staff is well above average, the student activities offered are excellent in the areas of sports , the arts and academic offerings. The only sub-par aspect of this school would be the facility itself. The Junior High is in desperate need of upgrading or building new facilities. The classrooms, labs, etc and far inferior to other schools in the area. However the staff and students deal with those issues in a positive manner and go forward obtaining a solid academic base for each child. The community support for this school system is very strong and the towns activities are centered around the schools which is wonderful. I would not consider moving my child to any other school in the area.
I am not a parent, but am a current teacher who spent some undergraduate time at Edgewood Elementary. Edgewood is a great school and unless you are a teacher, it is difficult to understand the pressures and many 'hats' a teacher has to wear each day.
I have a child with a learning disability as well as a physical disability. This school does not know how to handle then or even try to. They just push then through the system with out even looking back. I don't think they even know what the(NO Child Left Behind )is.Also when you try to educate then on your child they don't have the time, or make it mandatory for the staff that has your child to attened the inservice. It is very sad for the child in all this, the long term effects on the child effect the rest of there lives. All you ever hear from the staff is (WE DON'T HAVE THE FUNDS TO DO ANYTHING DIFFERENT.)If you have a child with a learning and physical diability DO NOT SEND THEN TO THIS SCHOOL DISTRICT. I don't know about the high school, but the other three are NOT GOOD!
