For the most part, I'm thrilled with the education my children (gr. 5 and 2) get there. Just wish the before and after care program was a little more stimulating for the older kids.
I would like to echo the positive sentiments reflected on this board. I have four children who attend St Charles. We transferred from another school and discovered the difference immediately. The staff and administration is friendly and responsive. The standardized test scores are among the highest in the city and even the lower performers are not allowed to 'fall through the cracks'. High academics with a family catholic feel. I feel that my tuition is well spent
I can't say enough good things about this school. I graduated from it many years ago, and to this day it is still very special to me. I know that it has remained a terrific school from the people I know who have children there. It's just an amazing atmosphere, and I actually enjoyed school...learning was fun! Yet at the same time, it was challenging and I throughout my high school AND COLLEGE education, I had things that were covered at St Charles. Many of the awesome teachers are STILL there, and I wish all kids could have the opportunity to attend this school.
Our son transferred to St Charles in fourth grade. At the time, we were looking for a school that could offer him a more challenging curriculum and greater learning opportunities. St. Charles has proven to be a fantastic school, with outstanding teachers, an engaging curriculum, a caring and compassionate staff and a wide variety of activities for the kids to get involved in, from music and drama to sports and student government opportunities. All this is complimented by the spiritual formation and enrichment of the children. The kids attend mass two times a week with their classmates and receive religious instruction from their teachers. This is complemented by a 'Choices and Challenges' weekly program presented by the school's guidance counselor. Outstanding academic curriculum, great parent support, good environment, and a great place for kids to grow up.
