I can only speak to my own experience---didn't have contact with every teacher or subject area. But overall, it's a great school. There are lots of options for honor students, and the typical range of extracurricular activities. I know of some Concordia students who got to college and thought their college classes were easier than their high school classes. If you take college prep type classes, you're going to be well prepared for college. It's definitely not a "name-only" Christian school---faith is an integral part of everything.

Think long and hard before entering your student into this school. While there are some teachers who are absolutely fantastic, there are others who are sub par and that's generous. This school has beliefs on the extremely conservative side. Students with different opinions are put down by faculty and other students. It is almost no different then a public school would be except they lack academically in some areas. It's not fair to be extremely critical because they do have some great teachers and the principal is caring and understanding. iPads are a necessity at the school but are rarely used. There can be a very positive attitude and good feel in the school but other times they are squashed totally by the extreme political views and almost non accepting attitude. It's an okay school with somewhat of a hefty price tag especially when you take into account the lack of some teaching. I received papers from a teacher with a date of 1999. This is a demonstration of how out of date and lack of any effort is out in to the day in and day out education. It could be a great school and recent hires are good teachers. It's the ones who've been there forever who need to be asked to move on.

Concordia exceeds my expectations for what I thought I was getting in a high school. Communication with the teachers has been awesome. I never knew how much high school teachers would communicate home to parents. I figured my son would work and I would be left clueless. Not the case here. This is a Christ centered school from its academics to sports. It is great to know others are helping me raise my son with the same morals I am teaching at home. My son is thriving in this environment! Thanks Concordia!!!!

Concordia Lutheran High School cares about each student individually. The small class size helps kids get more one on one time with the teacher. The number of activities for the school's size is incredible. Young people can participate in sports ranging from the typical football and basketball to the more unique like lacrosse. They also have an incredible marching band which has been to State six years running taking second place last year. Above all of this, Concordia is a place where faith in Jesus Christ is lived out and taught. Is it a perfect place? No, Does it have its share of issues? Yes, but I love it and would not send my children anywhere else. (btw- I have two there right now)

I attended Concordia High School as did my 2 sisters. We were very adequately prepared for college and scored well above the public schools in ISTEP, and SAT's. Very good school. I plan to send my future children here because there is no comparison to public schools academically.

I think that Concordia is a well organized school for not only the christian faith but also teaching people to be prepared for college

Concordia prepares students very well for college. I was better prepared for college and do better than my public school counterparts. Some of the teachers are extremely brilliant minds. It also prepares people to defend the faith against the many skeptics. The guidence department is subpar and did not send in my test scores to colleges I applied to. Much of the faculty also has a very obvious conservative bias.

I have found, that at my first few weeks at Concordia High school have been so fun and encoraging. Yeah, I had quite a few friends in gradeschool, but at Concordia there are so many cool nice Christian people to choose from. The classes I'm taking are great, and I am forcing myself to work hard and learn as much as I can from the excellent teachers. At lunch the table I sit at is so full of people and everyone is nice to everyone. On Friday we even invited a boy who was sitting by himself to join us. The classes are great, the people are great, and the staff is awesome. I couldn't wish for a more tremendous high school.

I am very happy overall with Concordia, however, my son had one teacher who embarrassed the kids for what he perceived as a lack of intelligence and/or physical strength. He's not an academic teacher so I guess we'll just chalk it up to knowing that in life you have to deal with people who put others down to make themselves feel better. Other than that one teacher, our experience has been outstanding. I highly recommend Concordia. Every other teacher has been much more caring, involved and concerned about the students academic performance and also their development as a person.

As a former student of this high school, I felt academically prepared for higher education. The majority of the staff was caring and helpful. However, there were a few teachers who were disappointing by their lack of Christian character and moral. Some teachers ridiculed students and one gave in to threats made by parents. Parents need to realize that the atmosphere among students at this school is no different than that of public schools. Students face the same problems, challenges, and difficulties.
