This is a great school!!and I know I went to ips when I was a child!I was shocked when I seen a few negative reviews!I love this school and so do my children!its one of the reasons we have stayed in franklin..my oldest went to webb and she was not happy there.people who give this school a negative rating are most likely whiners and snobs...

Avoid this school at all costs! My daughter went there for 1st grade and that was such a horrible time for our whole family. She broke her arm while at school, at lunch. I didn't receive a phone call at all. My daughter came home crying and I could tell it was broken. All I got from the school was the nurse blaming the teacher, teacher blaming the nurse, and the principal blaming it on "miscommunication." My daughter was labeled a "behavior problem" and when she would bring home some of the school supplies that we had bought for her, she was "stealing" My little girl absolutely hated going to school and cried every morning. She is now in another Franklin community school and we love it there. I am so glad they have district transfer forms!

My niece attends Northwood and I think that the teachers take a genuine interest in each student. The teachers are pressed hard from above and do their best to push the students to meet testing demands.

I am a preservice teacher, and I dream of working at a school like Northwood. The sense of community is amazing! The principal and counselor work hard to build relationships among the entire school and it definitely shows! Congrats Northwood Elementary, you are setting the bar high!

My son is in all day kindergarden, although he is moving along to the best of his ability and he is about where he needs to be academically, Northwood seriously lacks in many areas. I strongly suggest that their Adult And Child program be avoided at all costs. They have done more damage to my child then they have helped. If you are looking for a school that focuses on children then do not send your kids here! Faculty members are inapproprietly dressed and seem to be more involved in themselves then the best interest of the kids who attend the school. My son will not attend Northwood next year. I want him to have a better start in life. This school is a joke!

I also came from a back-round in IPS School Systems. My sister currently has her daughter in a private school for 5 years now. She came to pick my daughter up from Northwood one day and came out smiling. She said she never knew there were such schools that were as nice as a private school. Long story short, she has now enrolled her daughter in NorthGrove (Public school in Greenwood) She now pays 500.00 less a month in school fees and still gets the quality she seeks. Thank You Northwood! By the way Mrs. Conlon is the all day kindergarten class teacher. She is supurb!

I am very pleased with Northwood and my daughter loves it there. I have had wonderful experiences with all of her teachers. We moved away during her second grade year to Fishers, IN. Although, they were a wonderful school, I didn't find the teachers as personable and caring as those at Northwood. We ended up moving back at the end of her second grade year and finishing it up at Northwood. We intend to build a new home in the country in Franklin so that we can keep our children here and so that they continue at Northwood.

I am glad that my child is swithing to Creekside. I've heard great things about it. As for Northwood, I found the teachers lacked in their patience and willingness to help; one teacher imparticular. I was notified of events at the last minute that was always accompanied with a letter of apology for the short notice. The school also reeked a foul odor as soon as you walked through the front door. Maybe it's time to invest in new carpet or a good cleaning crew. Just because it's at the poor end of town doesn't mean that it has to represent it.
