I think the parent reviews demonstrate the true problem with the Springs Valley School system....the parents of the students. It evident that a school will have problems when it resides in a county that is one of teh poorest and least educated in the state. I am sure it is hard to make students respect the education system when their parents do not respect it themselves. In addition, these same parents that are so quick to find problems are the same parents that never show up to a parent teacher night, never show up to help, never pay their book fees, and never have anything positive to say. What we really need is a www.greatparent.net web site to grade the true problem with schools...the PARENTS!

My children have gone to Springs Valley for 8 years and I feel as if the school is not doing right by our children. The Elementary went without soap in bathrooms for over a month. The highschool principal once told me that he always takes a teachers side over a student. Nothing is ever done about parent complaints.

The academic level of this school is absymal. Aside from that, there is widespread lying and bullying which is not limited to students but goes all the way to the highest administration, and is not addressed in any fashion. There is neither a safe environment here for the students, nor is there one conducive to learning. Parents are afraid to complain for the most part because they know their children will be punished for it in school.
