When I first went to HHMS for fifth grade, I was excited and nervous because it was so big. I had a lot of fun in fifth grade, but sixth grade I didn't have the best time ever. One of the teachers weren't very pleasant and we complained to the principal but they didn't really help that much. I miss my friends there and might go back for seventh grade. The lunches are great, the activities are great, and choir is a lot of fun. I think classes just depend a lot on teachers. (:

I am currently an 8th grader. We have a wide variety of sports and clubs for everyone. Some examples for sports are swimmimg, diving(since we have two pools in our school), football, soccer, track, golf, tennis, cheerleading, dazzlers, wrestling, cross country, basketball, and volleyball. For clubs we have chess, science olympiad, spelling, and many more. I also advise if you are going to be a new student going into the 8th grade to contact the school a year earlier in the case that you want to go to the eighth grade Washington D.C. field trip or else you can't go. Bullying is strongly delt with here. Especially if you talk to the principals. Classes can be challenging if you are in the gifted and talented program but they are easy if you apply yourself and study. Apart from the obvious subjects of Math, Science, English, and History you have the object to take Orchestra, Choir, Band, Handbells, Business Tech, Office assistant, Teacher assistant, Library assistant, Media and Core. Also alternating days between Health and PE and once a week for 18 weeks we swim. There are cliques, but you just have to find people who are your true friends and you'll love it here. HHMS has some positive and negative points. Positive points: Many of the teachers are amazing and really care about the students. They do offer extracurricular activities ranging from athletics to the arts. Negative : They do not really following their bullying policies that they set forth. Some teacher turn their heads while these types of actives go on. The bullying ranges and verbal threat to physical harm.

Highland Hills is a terrific middle school. I volunteer at the school and am consistently impressed with the quality of people I encounter there. The teachers and staff are excellent educators who genuinely care about their students. It's also a beautiful, clean facility. It's truly a great school.

I was new to Highland Hills this year, and my last day of summer break I was flipping out, we had drove past the school earlier that week, and it was HUGE. I went through HHMS once I got my schedule and right then I knew where everytthing was! Now I love that school, and hate it when I'm sick because I want to go to school so bad. I also love how they give you time at the end of the day to work on any homework, which is such a great idea. I reccomend Highland Hills big time!!!

Highland Hills Middle School has a real life place for kids to enjoy learning with down-to-earth teachers giving more than 100% of their time and engery to make a difference. They are realistic about challenging each student. The teacher's value system is truly Amercian. It offers the students a way of life that leads to success, wholesome character, and integrity. Shall we say, they offer a moral compass by their very example of caring and sharing. While students obtain superb academic knowledge, they learn how to become a whole person who will be an asset to their community and the world. In all of this, they truly enjoy the journey that leads down the paths of learning. EXCELLENCE, in all things, is a target to always strive toward. What a school!

I used to go to a small public school, but my mom wanted me to be in a larger environment. When I came to this school I got scared because it was so big. But after a couple days I already had twice as much friends as I had at my public school.

You must come and visit Highland Hills, it's a great place for parents who want and expect the best for their children. I am a student at Highland Hills and I have loved for the past three years now because of Highland Hills Middle School. If you enroll your children in Highland Hills Middle School, your children are bound to become chained to the school and feel safe and happy. Here are some reasons why your children will love attending Highland Hills Middle School: Our school is a top school when it comes to education. Our school is also extremely against or anti about bullying, and we have many reminders and warnings against bullying, and punishment for bullying is severe. I am currently a sixth going on seventh grade student here at Highland Hills Middle School, or HHMS. I was a bit skeptical at first as the building is so HUGE but I quickly got over it when I learned how great the teachers and students really were. I think this is a great learning environment and is protected to insure safety. I think I liked this school best out of the three schools I've attended in my 12-year-old life.

I think HHMS is an awesome school. The 6th grade gold core has been top notch in my eyes. My son was just diagnosed with epilepsy and the school has been jumping through fire to help us and help our son too. Keep up the great work!

HHMS is auctually a pretty good school, we have some amazing teachers, and good lunch, we have plenty of time to talk to our friends, and a very very strict bulling punishment, the school is very very very strict about it, but over all it is a pretty awesome school, most of the kids here are really nice, and will help you is you ask, and it is easy to find your way around, it's cool, and very popular, it is a really big school though, but once you get inside it doesn't seem as big, so overall HHMS is an A+ school, or at least an A.

I can say from first-hand knowledge no 'special advanced algebra class' was ever canceled at HHMS. The school not only has advanced algebra classes for 8th graders, but also offers geometry (which is more advanced). A parent newsletter is mailed home quarterly, the webpage offers lots of info, and the sign out front gives pertinent information and dates. That said, no parent should leave his or her child's education solely to teachers; parents need to reinforce what is taught at school at home.

'This school has not meet any of my child's needs for success. It seems the parents that volunteer there at the has the students in clubs and organizations. Info doesn't reach parents that are not active in the PTO. I would like to be informed about clubs before a list is generated w/ students names are listed. child was here, so that it is at best mediocre currently. The special advanced algebra class for 8th grade was cancelled just before he reached 8th grade, and the caliber of most of his English teachers has been shockingly poor. It has therefore given none of the advantages of a huge school, with all of the disadvantages. I can recommend it only in contrast to most of the other public schools in the district.'

Although this is a good school overall, there is a small percentage of faculty who are very disrespectful to the students (consistently yelling and berating). They are still allowed to teach, despite multiple complaints. Most of the teachers are very dedicated and excellent. The facility is beautiful.

HHMS is an outstanding school. The teachers and staff keep you well informed of your student s progress. I'm glad we made the decision to move another district. HHMS by far exceeds the schools in the surrounding area. HHMS expects the students to perform at a higher standard.

I have taught in two different school districts within Kentucky, with my son attending middle school in one, so I've seen what is out there. The standards he is held accountable to at HHMS are so much higher than in his other experiences, of which I am grateful. Parental and community involvement is impressive, and is reflected in the success of students and in the well earned reputation of the school.
