Gosport Elementary School

This school thinks it is best that a child be paddled for their behavior rather than talking to the student and finding out why they are acting out. I have had nothing but problems from the staff, they discriminate against my 2 boys because of the way their older siblings/cousins behaved years ago at the same school. I would not recommend going to this school if your child(ren) have ADD/ADHD or if you're going thru a divorce because they would rather make it harder on your child(ren), than find out whjat is really going on.

The principal seems truly interested in the children, the school, and the community. Although, I do wish there was better communication between the parents and the teacher, but I think it is better here than most places anyway. The community is very small, and the diversity is limited. The teacher quality is wanting, but what can you ask for in such a small community? I would say, that most of all, the community and the principal push this school to a four. Thank you Indiana for supporting our small schools.

We are new to Gosport Elementary and we have had a smooth transition and my child is enjoying the school very much. We moved from a large school corporation that excelled in education and was worried that he may not be challenged enough in a smaller school. We are pleased that the school and his teacher has really put my mind at ease and he is definitely being challenged and doing well.

Both of my children went to GES and love it! They have been to several schools in Altamonte Springs Fl and Martinsville Indiana and think that Gosprt is the best! The one on one the teachers give the kids is second to none, Thier grades improved greatly. The teachers and Principal are very personable and very understanding. Always willing to help in anyway they can. The school shows pride and spirit and instils this in each and every child. All kids are asked to participate, the thing of teachers pet is a thing of the past in this school as all kids are equal and givin every opertunity to shine! If you are thinkng of moving to this quain town, I highly recomend it and be assured that your child will be in the best of hands at GES! We need more teachers and Principals like this one!
