Don't send ur child to hammond high!!!! Ur child WILLNOT be safe at all. The principal isn't on her pees and qs on disciplining children for fighting. How is a child suppose to go to school there confident that nothing will happen to her if she has a fight with one girl, it's videod, ends up going to the hospital and out of school for several days and NOTHING HAPPENS TO These kids. Video over social media and shown to the principal and nothing is done. My impression is the principal doesn't want to deal with the situation at hand and wants to sweep it under the rug. No justice or discipline at HAMMOND HIGH

Despite of the school having bugs crawling around the school and being messy. Most of the teachers do actually care for education while some teachers don't and a few try their best. The school is slowly improving and doing a little better each year. I was a 2013 graduate. I'm going to admit I miss attending the school. I just miss many people throughout the school. But I just hope the School get upgraded around the building. Most desks, computers, and classrooms had gotten a bit of a improvement

I am a current student at Hammond High and the Class of 2016. Hammond High School does to much and it really annoys me. I do not like the school for many reasons. 1. Some of the teachers do too much. 2.Some teacher do be knowing what they be teaching about. 3.They have 3 different lunches(A,B and C). I have C lunch and it is nasty. They always run out of food and it is always cold. 4. They have bugs and never clean the hallways. 5.The restrooms are always NASTY!!! You get what I saying. 6. They treat the "AP Students" better than the others because they are smarter than everyone else. 7. They gave the students tablets for learning, but only do they know it distracts them from learning. 8. While the "AP Students" gets Window 8 Surface Tablets the other students get rip-offs called "Kunos". So every "AP Student" thinks that they are better because the have the other tablets. 9. People in that school instigates to much and are always trying to get people in trouble. 10. There are too many fights and if some is trying to break up the fight others start to jump in. These are the reasons why I don't like Hammond High School.

When I first moved I heard a lot of bad things about Hammond high but once I went there everyone was so inviting and teachers really do teach you and help you out a lot. What I really love is that everyone says Hammond high is one big family it has done nothing bad but improving. Great education great people! The principal Ms.Yander's is a great supporter. She gives us speeches that makes us want to do better. I'm really going to Miss this school when I graduate.

Hammond high school is bad bt its also fun in the cafeteria hallway and outside of schol even sometimes in class but the school does teach you and explains more steps and work than eggers hammond high seems a bit easier by the teachers shoing steps and checking if u understand it if u don't the show u more examples help you even talk and explain to you more so this school is fair.

I graduated from Hammond High in 2007, and I miss my school. It's not fair that people say a school is bad or people should send their kids to Gavit or Morton. It's crazy because they are all the same, lol. They are all older schools who all need to be rebuilt. The teachers and staff at Hammond are just like any others in the school system. Some love their job and some who don't like kids shouldn't be working at a school at all. What people need to realize is that you only get out of a school what you put into it. Parents as well. I have friends who went to Bishop Noll and sad to say they wasted their money because we received the same amount of education! There's nothing wrong with Hammond High, the problem lies within the parents and the children who don't care about education!

HHS is an okay school. The teachers are great though. The student body is horrible. They lack school spirit and are unsupporting. There is a never ending anger in HHS. But again the counslers and teachers are top of the line. I believe that we need a new principal though because of the way the students, parents, and even teachers are talked to. As if they are children! HHS will get there one day. I can see the progress coming.

This is a really nice school! The only 2 problems that I have is that there are a lot fights in the school and that kids have to walk in front of the cars when they are trying to drive around to park or to leave the area.

I attended Hammond High School and from what I had heard I was not looking forward to going there but the staff and students changed my mind. There is a comment about how the girls dress. Well I blame the parents for not monitoring what their children are wearing you can't talk about how the kids act when they aren't receiving any discipline in the home it is not the job of the teachers to teach the students how to act. And some teachers will allow their students to wear inappropriate clothing only because the consequences of that would mean missing class. I attended Hammond High for only two months and I already missed it. Science was always a hard class for me but the teachers determination to help kids learn is there and they never gave up. Hammond High is wonderful. And I think anybody would enjoy it there.

I'm also 2004 Hammond High graduate well was suppose to be. I had an obstacle or two to overcome and my counselor has helped me tramendously. Hammond High is not a bad school like everyone is trying to say. Sure Hammond High had some troubles within the school but it is an amazing school. You have teachers there who are willing to help you with your work. It's not a teachers fault if a student is lazy and doesn't work. This school is the best school in Hammond. It's very diverse and excellent for academics. Other school aren't schools who are diverse and competitve. Many Hammond High students have a challenge when they come to this school. The encouragement given by the Hammond High Staff has been unlimited to students. They want to see their students succeed. I love HHS and refused to go elsewhere

Hammond High school is a great school. I am a student that attends Hammond High. I will be graduating in the summer of 2006. The teachers make it their number one priority to teach and to help the students learn. It is up to the students to take that opportunity and utilize it. If the students go to school with inapropriate clothing on, then whose fault is that. It's not the schools fault. It is the parents fault most of the kids are too young to buy there own clothing so,whose getting it for them? Some individuals badmouth HHS because of what they hear. They dont know for a fact that what their hearing is true. It all starts at home.

I am not a parent, but I am a former student of Hammond High School. I am with the class of 2000. Hammond High has its share of problems as with any other school. I believe that if the school get some new young teachers who are eager to teach and can get the students involved. I believe that the school and students will be better off. The school needs to put more after school projects out there. They have a better policy when it comes to the clothes thatsome of the students wear. The teachers need to get involved in the lives of the students. This will only happen if the head of the school whose name is Mr. White, and the head of the students which are the parents. Just remember the way your children present themselves always start from home. Thank you for your time and consideration.

My children went there. The teachers let the kids do whatever they want. The girls always wear innapropriate clothing and they never get in trouble. Some teachers are prejudiced. Many kids get harrassed in that school and nothing is done about it. If I could do it over again, I would have sent my children to a different school like Gavit or Clark. Hammond High is not a positive school. Please dont send your kids there.
