I am a former student of Morton (class of 1985). Since my real review wont get printed I will attempt to tell you how Morton will never be the as great as in my years. We had open campus lunch , we also had 55 min for lunch. We had shop classes that real men learned things in. We had cute girls who wore tight jeans and guys loved it. We had girls that wanted to be prom queens that had the correct equiptment to fill that requirement. We had a great gym classes and got to take showers afterwards without singing that song by Rockwell with Michael Jackson singing backup. We had students who rode lawn tractors in the basement halways and minibikes from the shop area to the library (and never got cuaght!) We had guys (my now brother in law) who stole the janitors keys so him and his buddies could go for a swim on Saturday night. We had guys (MY CURRENT CO- worker) who would take his girlfriend to the upper balcony (L. AUDTRM) and do unspeakable things that normal girls and boys of that age do. No, you current students hav no chance of knowing this stuff. Why? BECAUSE THE POWERS THAT RUN MORTON NOW LITTERALLY WENT TO SCHOOL WITH ME. THE ONES WE ALL MADE FUN OF AND STUFFED IN LOCKERS

I am a former student. This school is a prison not some "Utopia of Choice" as its made out to be. How much choice can you have when you are watched by security cameras every minute!? How much choice can you have when you cant even choose your own clothes!? AND there are NO classes that teach LIFE SKILLS! They CUT OUT SHOP CLASS and put in performing arts! HOW IS THAT A LIFE SKILL! Not to mention they replaced god with the state... Pray for anyone who goes to Morton.. There is a high chance they will come out devoid of individuality and a socialist....

Morton has changed in the 2010-2011 school year. alot of the previous teachers have been replaced with new,great, ready to teach...teachers. Morton has also done great things with its academy for the performing arts. I, myself, am a freshman student seeking to attain a core 40 (which is now MANDATORY) diploma with academic AND technical honors. Morton doesnt just teach meaningless subjects for students to get crdeits. Alot of classes, choosen by the students thmselves, give students an oppurtunity to prepare for a future career of their choice.Morton isnt amazing, but im sure with more money, Morton could go very far in its future.. o;

Unless you go to Morton you don't know what its like. The staff at Morton are some of the nicest, caring people I've ever met. I know teachers that will stay after school, during their free time, for hours working with students so they better understand their work. Grades aren't their fault. A parent shouldn't be concerned and surprised when their child come home with a F on their report cards. We have a new STI system where a parent can check a students grade and attendance up-to-date DAILY. I'm not saying grades are parents faults. Grades are not only the responsibility of the school, but a collective effort between the school, child, and parent. Morton High School is working above and beyond their duties.

This school is a joke, its like a prison, uniforms and disipline. Not the place to send a descent child and their academic ratings prove it.

that personis totally wrong. Most all of the students are against one or more teachers there. Most of the teachers do not teach, and many are stuck in the past about how teaching was in the 50's. They will not answer the students' questions; they will only scold the students for being 'stupid'. There are, however, a few teachers who actually teach and the students like it. They see some of their classes as enjoyable. sone of the students are just ignorant.

I have a special place in my heart for Morton. The problem is, I can't decide whether it's a soft spot, or a big nasty hole. I have some great memories there. But I can also say that getting out (via graduation, of course) of there was one of the best things that could have happened to me. The sudden transistion to 'uniformity of color' created, the way I saw it, an even more hostile environment than we had before. I didn't know if I was going to sit through a whole school day or have to go home because someone was going to try to burn down the bathroom. On the bright side, however, the theatre program seems to really be picking up, as well as other extracurricular activities. I'm hoping my brother can manage to have a good experience when he enters next year as a freshman.

Morton is a horrible school. You really don't understand what goes on here unless you are a current student here. The teachers and police officers jump to conclusions about why you are in the hall when you are trying to perform a simple task for a superior. They spent more money on building our new football field than on our education. We need books and desks not astroturf. They are so cheap and money hungry that they make us pay for every possible thing needed or required.

morton gives students the chance and ability to become the best and stay the best, however, some teachers in the building act as if they care less about the students and more about a pay check... Pay close attention to your teachers and give the students back their old school. The school has chnged over the years. It use to be a very fun achool with a great positive environment. Because there are students who aren't so dedicated and positive as the rest of the student body it takes away from the children who actually try. Bring back powder puff games, the fun pep rallies, cute dances, and fun after school activities. Stop takeing the fun out of school. After all thats all our children have left in this world to depend on!
