Hope Intermediate is part of the Flat Rock - Hawcreek School Corporation in rural northeast Bartholomew County. Our school district includes many small rural communities who face losing their individual identities with each passing year. There is an effort sweeping the nation to consolidate educational facilities. It is important for these rural communities to retain their identities. In the spirit of our Pioneer founders, we recently made a commitment to remain an independent school system by upgrading, combining, and improving facilities versus eventual consolidation with a larger, more impersonal school corporation. This was a difficult decision due to the current economy, but our youth are our future this we know, we believe, we support. Hope Intermediate has great educators and administrators -- people who truly care about our youth. The school could certainly use this money to further boost the programs it provides. By awarding the $20,000 to Hope Intermediate, you will be recognizing and honoring all the small rural schools across America -- those dots on the map where America can be seen at its best.

Because the whole staff cares about the kids. The students and their learning are the #1 priority. But the staff also cares about the kids themselves, their emotional and growth. I could not think of a better school for my kids to go to!!!
