We just moved into this County and my fourth grade son had a hard time relocating. He has only been at Fox Hill for 2 months and he occassionally comes home w tears saying that the kids laugh at him and call him "carmel" because of his skin color. I'm not trying to cry racism....but if the shoe fit

We love Fox Hill. The teachers are passionate about teaching, there is a rich diversity here, and there are many affordable enrichment activities from which to choose. There is an option called COMPASS which integrates third, fourth, and fifth graders of different abilities. The International Baccalaureate program is being started this year as well. We have watched my son come out of his shell here and we've become part of a larger family. He started Fox Hill in Kindergarten, and this is his last year. We will miss it very much. Come to Fox Hill and get involved!

I love Fox Hill. This is my son's last year and it has been a good experience. The teachers keep the standards high and there is a general feeling of accountability for the child's progress through the grades. The administrators are available and approacable. It is hard to tell the difference between the Inquiry students and the regular class rooms. Love this school and will miss it.

I have two children who attend Fox Hill and we love it! I volunteer at the school once a week and have observed many teachers and administrators.

My child loves this school. I was initially down because I wanted my child to attend Crooked Creek(score of 10). I have to pass it to get to fox hill. However I have been pleased. They are a diverse school, and have adjusted to meet the needs of all students( white, black, and hispanic). One highlight for the school are the after school enrichment programs there are tons, and they're highly affordable.

My children love Fox Hill. The principal is the best ever and even the after school AYS director is great. Fox Hill is number 1 in my book.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Indiana used the Indiana Statewide Testing for Educational Progress-Plus (ISTEP+) assessment to test students in grades 3 through 8 in English/language arts and math, grades 4 and 6 in science, and in grades 5 and 7 in social studies. The ISTEP+ is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Indiana. The goal is for all students to score at the passing level on the test.

In addition, high schools were graded on four-year (on-time) graduation rates and college and career readiness indicators including Advanced Placment exam results and industry certification exam results.

Average
Above
average

Our rating (from 1 to 10) reflects a school's overall performance. The higher the rating, the more likely the school will prepare your child for the future, so choose an above-average school (8-10) if possible. For average schools (4-7), do careful research and look for evidence that the school has high-quality programs. For below-average schools (1-3), take caution; a low-performing school may not provide the instruction or environment your child needs to learn, and you may need to supplement classroom lessons at home.

Academic rating

The academic rating is made up of equally-weighted parts: students' test scores, their academic growth (for elementary and middle schools) and their readiness for college (for high schools). The graphs below compare this school's results in each area to other schools in the city and state. Growth and college readiness ratings are coming soon, pending publication of 2012 data.
