Our family loves St. Pius X. The teachers and Principal are fantastic and work with you as parents and for our children. Our children love going to St. Pius. The parent involvement is wonderful.

I have found the school experience of my 3, very different, children to be exceptional at St Pius. I cannot believe so many negative reviews are posted here. Clearly, per human nature, we are more easily inspired to complain than to take time to praise goodness. As I said, my children were all at very different levels academically (one gifted, one solidly average, and one with a learning disability). All three were treated with love and dignity. All were taught well. And, all are doing quite well beyond grade school and middle school. My experience has been one of Christ centered curriculum and caring faculty and staff. I am grateful that St Pius was an option for our family.

Terrible, Terrible school. My child has all kinds of emotional problems from going here. Do not judge a book by it's cover...the only reason it has high ISTEP scores is because they are very selective about which children they want in their school. Also, way too much homework, my family is held hostage each night over hours of homework. Just be aware, the environment can be very stressful and emotionally detrimental to many children.

Do not choose this school for your child unless he/she is absolutely perfect. They do not know how to help children with any type of challenging issues. If you like a school that sends your child to the principal's office for 3 hours at a time for discipline and then leaves them in a room there so they don't have to deal with them (and not telling you), then this is the right school for you! This is not a loving environment. However, the more money you make, the more you will be loved here. They put too many children in one classroom with as many as 27 and 28 in some. After 5 unsuccessful years with a very intelligent child we are leaving this school.

I luv St. pius and i think even though at one point in time it had some bullying it has now evened out because of our new principal and bullying is not tolerated. St. Pius has a loving enviroment and great teacher who will ork with students intill the have not only understood the material but memorized it in a fun and enchirining way. I ould advise this school to anyone of my friends.

My child was bullied continuously at this school for an entire, she was also threatened by her bullier. The principal, teacher and other students and parents were aware...to make a long story short, we are leaving the school and the bully is staying. I am disgusted with this school, and unfortunately, this is not an uncommon event at this school

average

Our rating (from 1 to 10) reflects a school's overall performance. The higher the rating, the more likely the school will prepare your child for the future, so choose an above-average school (8-10) if possible. For average schools (4-7), do careful research and look for evidence that the school has high-quality programs. For below-average schools (1-3), take caution; a low-performing school may not provide the instruction or environment your child needs to learn, and you may need to supplement classroom lessons at home.

Academic rating

The academic rating is made up of equally-weighted parts: students' test scores, their academic growth (for elementary and middle schools) and their readiness for college (for high schools). The graphs below compare this school's results in each area to other schools in the city and state. Growth and college readiness ratings are coming soon, pending publication of 2012 data.
