we enrolled our daughter to repeat the fourth grade due to dyslexia that had made her prior two school years less than rewarding. She is a bright child and had matriculated by passing the ISTEP tests each year but we felt the increasing struggle as a family without true appreciation, guidance or support for our challenges to help her to be successful from prior institutions. That decision was in August 2010 and our child is starting to blossom under the caring and attention of the teachers, staff and other parents with whom she has contact through her classmates. Each year of her enrolement has been a series of successes for her personally and for us as a family. Each year we receive a level of comprehension and appreciation by her teachers regarding her specific challenges without inculcating a bias or stigma that could stifle her development. Our child still has some work to do but we wholeheartedly and unabashedly recommend the principal, staff and environment of Chrst The King School (Indianapolis) as a stellar place for elementary education and a place where "No child left behind" isn't just a monicker but a cultural expression of their Christian walk. Because they care about the students, the teachers work hard and they educate the entire student with a body, mind, spirit approach

Christ the King is a very unpretentious Catholic school. The school is blessed with a very loving and supportive atmosphere of both it's students and parents. Non-Catholics feel welcome. Students come to our school from other Catholic schools in the area because they know they will be welcome with open arms and be given a solid education. If there is a 'clique' in the school, I must not be in it, because I have yet to experience that type of thing at Christ the King. We are beginning our 7th year as a Christ the King family.

Above
average

Our rating (from 1 to 10) reflects a school's overall performance. The higher the rating, the more likely the school will prepare your child for the future, so choose an above-average school (8-10) if possible. For average schools (4-7), do careful research and look for evidence that the school has high-quality programs. For below-average schools (1-3), take caution; a low-performing school may not provide the instruction or environment your child needs to learn, and you may need to supplement classroom lessons at home.

Academic rating

The academic rating is made up of equally-weighted parts: students' test scores, their academic growth (for elementary and middle schools) and their readiness for college (for high schools). The graphs below compare this school's results in each area to other schools in the city and state. Growth and college readiness ratings are coming soon, pending publication of 2012 data.
