This is a failing inner-city high school with a high drop out rate. Violence, drug abuse, and gang activity are rampant. If you love your children and want then to have a chance at a decent future do not send them to George Washington High School. It should be closed and taken over by the state like other Indianapolis public schools have been.

Every school has there faults, this is one of them. Unlike many, they don't just sit and take it, the school is always improving and getting better, trying to make real change, if you want a school that the staff truly cares about the students and not only wants them to succeed but will help them along the way, not only in school but after they leave. GWCS is the place to go.

GWCHS made me realize the importance of friendship and it's still sad that I had to leave. -TaylorCarnes

The attitudes of some of the students is pretty bad. Hard to make friends. It can get lonesome. I wouldn't consider the school a friendly environment because of the students.

The continentals provided me a great stepping stone for my educational career! Thank you, George Washington Community High School, for believing in me and supporting me.

While it does have it hallenges, GWCHS has seen steady improvement and had a very strong community involvment

I love the jrotc program at george washington.it is the best thing that could happen to me

Thank you for the ROTC program! The best thing to happen in any IPS school. Congratulations on offering it while many public schools don't. I also don't believe any 'magnet' schools do either. Thank You! Barbara Contreras
