While we do not have a child with a learning difference, there are many programs at the school to help your child. We have EL teachers, a hearing teacher, a speech teacher, reading interventionist, and more. IEP plans are created for children that need them.
The Principal and Dean do a great job supportting the staff. They make a conscious effort to move about the school all day helping to reinforce CORE behavior to the students. The principal issues a weekly newsletter to families and staff.
Teachers use the front page of weekly homework packet as a chance to provide classroom and school happenings. A lot of teachers have a classroom or grade level webpage, use classroom twitter accounts, class dojo, remind 101, emails and of course phone calls home.
This year, homework packets are being sent home on Friday for our child to complete by the next Friday. I love this idea because some nights are very busy. Our son likes to get his homework done over the weekend.
We love this school. Both of our sons have enjoyed their teachers and classmates. The school offers before and after school care. The school and PTA offer a variety of family fun events throughout the year.
I was a previous student, and attended 3-5 from when the school had just opened. It has to be one of the best elementary's.. No doubt. I loved it their compared to Hawthorne. The principal has just moved though, but my 2 sisters like the new one. Lp! class of 2012.
Our daughter is in 2d grade at LPES. We love it! Our boys, teens now, went to another Warren school for elementary but we had different resutls than we see with our daughter. The staff is loving and kind and realistic. We love our principal too!!!
