Ive attended for 9 years and I mean the school is great. But where they are messing up is the principal. She kinda abuses her power like a tyrant. And 9/10 of my peers agree. The 1/10 doesn't care. I've found no one who thought she benefited the school. I know a few parents who have filed reports on her, I feel you would argue that there are behavioral problems that need to be dealt with, but most of the behavioral problems arent real issues, today I witnessed a student smiling and making no noise whatsoever and was punished with 2 days of in school suspension and she stated in the cafeteria when this happened "Who else wants to join him!? You!? Maybe this entire table!?" And from what the student says, she told him he can't smile through his life or he will be a failure or something. If I was in that situation i would have said you are supposed to love your work and be happy about it, smiling is a part of being happy so you obviously don't enjoy your employment, why torment children? Today she also threatened the 7th grade about becoming an "F" school and it being their fault. The middle school hallway is probably 10 feet wide and is also the smallest hallway length and width wise in the school. It's also where 2/5 of the students are (around a 150 kids) in that small hallway and they all have the same transition times, it's an absolute nightmare for anyone wanting to get to class on time. An easy fix that could be made by the principal if she put the older kids in a larger hallway. The teachers there can be really fun though, and there's not too much wrong with the lot of them. Especially the Physical Education and Music and Art teachers. Really genuine people. Sometimes students feel bad for them. The school could be great if it wasn't for the principle. Other than that, it's taking a metaphorical "L" from me and my peers.

Everything is very good. All the teachers and classes. Everything except the principal. She leaves a bad sour taste in your mouth and ruins your overall mood. I have heard of her false accusations and have even witnessed one. She also told my friend that she is wiser than him and that she is "better than him". Also that he "won't have a future if he smiles all the time."

My school is average because the school's lunch isn't that great, but the teachers are really strict about the school dresscode, they are also really strict about talking in the hallways.

School 19 is great. Teachers care about students and there isn't many behavioral problems like I've seen at other schools.

Staff strive hard to incorporate movement into every child's daily routines. Students are given plenty of opportunities to be physically active throughout the school day.

Frederick Douglass School 19, Indianapolis, Indiana I love teaching at our Super School! Our students are actively engaged, getting individual attention, and becoming more physically fit!
