My children are really enjoying Sidener Academy. The smaller size make the school more personable and less daunting. The kids are treated like kids instead of prisoners. The teachers seem to go the extra mile and help not only in school but for after school programs and clubs. 5 Stars from this parent!

After trying two different charter schools, we finally found the perfect IPS school for my daughter. I am thoroughly impressed with the professionalism of the staff, as well as, the care that they show towards the students. I am so grateful that Sidener exists. Kudos to Sidener, keep up the great work!

I am truly blessed to have been a part of the original teaching cadre, and to be able to work with the best teachers anywhere in the world.

Sidener Academy made all the difference for my high ability student. He was bored and acting out in his previous school because they didn't know how to challenge him. He has grown and thrived in his 5 years at Sidener and we will be forever grateful to the staff there!

It's so refreshing to see a racially and socioeconomically diverse urban school where academic excellence is the norm! If your child is invited to apply to this school, you should seriously consider it. It may not have all the bells and whistles of some of the other magnet schools, but the education the children receive is top-notch. Perhaps most important is the chance to be educated alongside their intellectual peers, in a place where being smart and loving to learn is not something to be embarrassed about.

Finally, a school that offers a truly dynamic and well rounded education to its students!! My daughter is thriving at this school. The advanced curriculum is right on par with her abilities. Additionally, the Spanish instruction, violin, and advanced art make for an education that sets this and other IPS schools apart. The teachers here rock!! They understand high ability learners and go that extra mile daily. I can not say enough about this school and about IPS. Really outstanding.

average

Our rating (from 1 to 10) reflects a school's overall performance. The higher the rating, the more likely the school will prepare your child for the future, so choose an above-average school (8-10) if possible. For average schools (4-7), do careful research and look for evidence that the school has high-quality programs. For below-average schools (1-3), take caution; a low-performing school may not provide the instruction or environment your child needs to learn, and you may need to supplement classroom lessons at home.

Academic rating

The academic rating is made up of equally-weighted parts: students' test scores, their academic growth (for elementary and middle schools) and their readiness for college (for high schools). The graphs below compare this school's results in each area to other schools in the city and state. Growth and college readiness ratings are coming soon, pending publication of 2012 data.
