I love Theodore Potter. The teachers are VERY committed to the students and it shows!! The students thrive and get the necessary support to be successful. The teachers create an environment of learning and expectations of academic success. Even better that my children will graduate being fluent in Spanish...conversational and academically. And have lived in a culturally diverse academic setting. They are learning more than the "Three Rs". It is a wonderful, welcoming environment for parents and students.
Results show that School 74 has been improving academically for the past 5 years. Growth is consistent and above typical averages. Students who start at School 74 stay at School 74 with little mobility. Parent involvement increases every year making ours a stronger learning community. If history is any indication, the trend of improving will continue for a long time to come. School 74 is an outstanding place for students to learn.
My daughter is in kindergarten at this school. They offer a Spanish Immersion program that compares to the International school. She get 50% of her instruction in English and 50% of her instruction in Spanish. All of the Spanish teachers are from Spain and offer a unique, authentic experience. My daughter, like most students at this school, did not know any Spanish before entering this school. She is able to speak and understand a lot of Spanish and she is just half way through the year. The teachers are amazing and it clearly shows when you walk into the building. If you feel a bilingual experience is important, this school is a perfect fit.
