Wilson is a wonderful school. I had two children that went here and have now gone to middle school. I was very happy with all the staff at Wilson. This is a great school.

Most professionalism of any public school I've encountered and I've been a teacher for 17 years. Excellent school!

My two boys are in the fifth and first grades and this school is absolutely wonderful. Right after they started Mrs. K. called to tell me what a delight they were, talk about a great personal touch!

I agree with all the comments thus far. Wilson is an excellent school. My daughter is in first grade there, and they have been wonderful. The teachers and staff all go out of their way to make it the best experience ever. Mrs K truly deserves an award for all the effort she puts into the school. And the teachers as well. They are all wonderful... truly angels! I look forward to many more years at Wilson. Signed, Satisfied Parent!

My son has had a wonderful experience this year in Kindergarten and we look forward to many more years at Wilson. His teacher and his assistant were excellent. They gave me opportunity to come in and observe the class. My son loved his 'VIP' week. He was able to share his favorite snack with his classmates (Krispie Kreme donuts). I really enjoyed the weekly Success-A-grams. It provided great up-dates. The priciple Ms. K. is wonderful, always there with a smile. Thank you for allowing me time to sit in the 1 st grade classes to help me prepare for next year. I look forward to next year and continued involvement with the PTO.

On a scale of 1-10. I wld rate this school a 10. My child went there last year in the 5th grade and it was wonderful. The principal and her 5the grade teacher were the best. They bent over bckward to help her through some very rough times during her fifth grade year.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Indiana used the Indiana Statewide Testing for Educational Progress-Plus (ISTEP+) assessment to test students in grades 3 through 8 in English/language arts and math, grades 4 and 6 in science, and in grades 5 and 7 in social studies. The ISTEP+ is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Indiana. The goal is for all students to score at the passing level on the test.

Above
average

Our rating (from 1 to 10) reflects a school's overall performance. The higher the rating, the more likely the school will prepare your child for the future, so choose an above-average school (8-10) if possible. For average schools (4-7), do careful research and look for evidence that the school has high-quality programs. For below-average schools (1-3), take caution; a low-performing school may not provide the instruction or environment your child needs to learn, and you may need to supplement classroom lessons at home.

Academic rating

The academic rating is made up of equally-weighted parts: students' test scores, their academic growth (for elementary and middle schools) and their readiness for college (for high schools). The graphs below compare this school's results in each area to other schools in the city and state. Growth and college readiness ratings are coming soon, pending publication of 2012 data.
