Academic programs are the best that they can be. There are many extracurricular activities including music, art, soccer, baseball, basketball, and football. The school has many ways of parent involvement such as ,conferences twice a year (others can be scheduled) and project fairs.
This is by far the worst school for special needs children. My son was bullied by 6 bullies and the school did nothing to protect him. Also, the teacher mentality is put them with the regular ed kids and they will either sink or swim. Teachers have lousy attitudes and wont lift a finger to help a student even if it only takes a couple of extra seconds on their part. They don't want to be bothered they are too buzy to care about your kid. I got tired of endless Iep meetings so we moved to maplecrest they are wonderful. My son went from straight F's to practically straight A's overnight.
This school could be an excellent school if they tried a little harder. Seems they don't care for very much parent interaction. Safety issues tend to get taken as a lesser seriousness than they are. Seems the school has a mentality of those types of safety incidents wouldn't happen at our school. In return when parents ask questions they are treated like they are paranoid.Basically your kids are theirs while they are in session, and you have little say over what they do with them during this time. If you try to ask questions you are classified as a 'problem' parent.
