One of the aspects of the interview process that we try to practice with prospective parents is full disclosure. We spend time going over our Statement of Faith, Mission Philosophy, worldview, and other specific questions that parents and students may have. We do have guidelines and expectations for our students and staff and we try to consistently follow through with what is expressed in our guidelines. As one can imagine, there are so many various topics, events, and themes to be addressed and discussed from student s viewpoints. While there may be a variety of specific issues that our students may face, we do strive to address general problems and issues from a biblical perspective. We present compelling reasons from the Bible and other resources to help teach and train young people. We also understand that there are many opinions about these issues that would be counter to what God s Word teaches. We can present a variety of ideas and opinions but we ultimately have to determine what God s Word teaches about various issues. Our mission is to train young people to live effectively in God s world. We desire to see our young people in a position to be effective wherever the Lord directs them. We realize that providing teaching opportunities for young people is extremely important to their development and their future. To allow and encourage young people to develop a biblical worldview, and to receive a top-notch Christ-centered education, is one of the greatest blessings of being a student at Faith Christian School.
Oh Faith, where do I begin. They try to make everyone act the exact same and follow their exact guidelines, producing what I like to call "cookie cutter Christians". They don't talk about real issues affecting teenagers, and never even touch on the topics of sex, drugs, or alcohol. They live in their own sheltered bubble and if you don't conform to their views then you have a "heart issue". The teachers and staff our great individuals, but they're just a little misguided. Enough with my rant, send you're kids there if you want, but they will get a very biased/one sided world view.
I HATED Faith. It was the worst school i've ever attended. The judging by the teachers was completely unfair. They thought you were lower because you came from public school. I will die before I ever step foot on Faiths campus again.
Before my husband and I had even planned on starting a family we had already decided that we would love to send our children to Faith based on the interaction of a few high school students that attended there. The respect that these students showed their peers and their attitude towards life, school and God was outstanding!! Now that our child has been in the school for a couple of years, I couldn't be more happy of our choice! It has been by far the best decision we have made for the start of child's education development!
I go to Faith.... I absolutely love it... between the caring teachers who will help you spiritually at any time and the opportunities and academics given to the students. We are able to go out in the community and take what we learn and use it for God! We are around other Christian students who love the Lord. Its not a perfect school, but there is no such thing as a perfect school... This school strives to mold there students to think, grow, and live a life glorifiying to the Lord! And i cant forget about school spirit.... we definitely have it!!!! :P
Faith Christian School is a special place and unlike any other in the community. Having had personal experience with both the public school system and the Catholic school system, I can honestly say that Faith has so much more to offer. The culture within the school and at each school event is amazing. Everyone is held to the highest standards, those of humility and treating others the way we ourselves wish to be treated. This focus is embraced by staff and is imprinted on students and parents. I have never made a better investment in the well-being of my family.
This school is worth every penny...and as far as I'm concerned, a real bargain as far as private schools are concerned. Brought my child to Faith before middle school and it was the best move we've made. Faith not only is an excellent source of academia, it helps to shape the whole person. I know I can call or email if there is a problem and it will be dealt with immediately and in a Christian manner. I thank God every day for Faith Christian!
This is the best school for us in the Lafayette area! I highly encourage you to take a tour, the staff is amazing. I give this a 5 rating all the way. The teachers are amazing!!!!!
FCS offers terrific and caring teachers! Our sons have been at the school now for 10 years. The academics are challenging and prepare them well for college. Our oldest son tested out of 15 credits when he went on to Purdue! We also liked that the other students treat each other with respect and Christian love. The school encourages students to wait on dating so the students don't feel the peer pressure to pair up until they are much older. The school encourages group activities instead. Faith has a wonderful music program. The concerts are a delight to attend. They also offer drama and art. Faith offers a large variety of sports for boys and girls and has won many championships. We would definitely send our children here again if we had to decide all over again.
There are many great schools. This school, however, focuses not on its greatness, but on the greatness of God and the devotion to his Son. The academics are outstanding, but this school continually stresses character development and an unwavering devotion to God and His Word! I see staff on a daily basis ministering to their students- not just teaching them! That is a rare find, even in many faith-based institutions!
We enrolled our children into FCS in 2006. Withdrew them all within 2 years. Very few of the "teachers" at FCS are licensed by the state of Indiana, of the 12 we asked only 1 was. We have since placed our children in the public schools here in Lafayette, the academics are far better than at FCS.
My children are surrounded by christian up bringing which is very important in this day and age. The academics are rated high which is also very important.
This school is very academically well situated. My child is in Pre-K3 and is learning so much. Best school and church I have attended.
We relocated where from New Mexico 2-1/2 yrs ago and have been extremely happy with FCS's 1st thru 12th program and teachers. Our kids are loving it. If there is one thing FCS could do better that would be improve their preschool program. We were a bit disappointed. The didn't seem to challenge the kids enough. But dispite preschool program I would highly recommend the FCS without adout.
Well run school. A bit over-academic for some. Staff has a great heart and works hard. A great value. Somewhat outdated dress code. Facilities are above average for a private school. Great biblical teaching.
Faith Christian School (FCS) has an excellent learning atmosphere. The teachers are tireless and work well with parents on individual problems. The National test scoring of my 8 year old has increased every year since his first year there as a Kindergartener. They particularly emphasize reading and penmanship at the elementary level. There are moderate opportunities for music, sports, and other activities. Apart from academic performance, FCS also promotes a good moral foundation for teaching and learning with emphasis on character development and good citizenry. The academic quality of the education system there is comparable to the top schools. The moral and ethics quality of the system is unmatched by any school in the public system.
