The Warsaw school system as a whole is great. Amazing teachers not just with their teaching techniques, but also with teaching the children good behavioral practices. Work closely with the parents, and keep everyone informed.

I feel this school is great. My daughter is a second grader this year. She has attended Leesburg since kindergarten. Her teachers have pushed her to accel and make she she is recieving the personal attention she needs. They have the Blazer Buck reward system where they can earn 'dollars' for being safe, responsilbe, respectable, helpful, ect. Then theses children are able to 'spend' the dollars in Blazer buck store. They are currently building a new school-which will help the staff better provide for the children.

Leesburg Elementary is blessed with such an amazing staff. It is unfortuante when a teacher is absent due to medical issues out of their control. But inspite of this, the staff steps up to provide consistency and a quality education for the students. What a great job the teachers are doing at Leesburg Elementary!

I have two kids that go to Leesburg and one of them have health problems and sezuires if it was not for them he would be treated as an outsider. He is the main class room for most of the day and he enjoys the kids in his class. He tells me that his teachers are nice and helpful when he needs it. The kids that are differnt should not be put out because of someone not liking a kid with special needs in their kids class room. So please take this in mind we are all the same and have brains so lets so the kids that not to make fun of someone that is differnt is just not right.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Indiana used the Indiana Statewide Testing for Educational Progress-Plus (ISTEP+) assessment to test students in grades 3 through 8 in English/language arts and math, grades 4 and 6 in science, and in grades 5 and 7 in social studies. The ISTEP+ is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Indiana. The goal is for all students to score at the passing level on the test.

In addition, high schools were graded on four-year (on-time) graduation rates and college and career readiness indicators including Advanced Placment exam results and industry certification exam results.

Our rating (from 1 to 10) reflects a school's overall performance. The higher the rating, the more likely the school will prepare your child for the future, so choose an above-average school (8-10) if possible. For average schools (4-7), do careful research and look for evidence that the school has high-quality programs. For below-average schools (1-3), take caution; a low-performing school may not provide the instruction or environment your child needs to learn, and you may need to supplement classroom lessons at home.

Academic rating

The academic rating is made up of equally-weighted parts: students' test scores, their academic growth (for elementary and middle schools) and their readiness for college (for high schools). The graphs below compare this school's results in each area to other schools in the city and state. Growth and college readiness ratings are coming soon, pending publication of 2012 data.
