What an amazing school. We transferred my child for the opening year at inspire & all I can say is wow.... I am 100% happy with the school. The entire staff is so involved in student success, they welcome parent involvement & encourage out of the box thinking. your child will not be sitting doing worksheets here, the lesson plans come from their community & environment. The children are challenged to explore concepts and learn the real how & why instead of just memorizing data. The third grade teachers are truly amazing, they are committed to providing quality education to each & every student. The year round schedule & longer school days are something I was nervous about at first but I actually love now. I especially like that the children get the opportunity to have an intensive arts based intersession (half day of school) during the extended breaks. There really isn't anything negative i can say about the school, though i do wish they offered a preschool program. I even enjoy the parent commitment hours. At first I was not super excited about having to commit to participating but it turns out I love being able to be so involved in my child's education field work is fun!

My daughter has gone from loathing her classes and school work to being a model student and really enjoying school. I attribute this to her excellent third grade teachers and the expeditionary learning format of the school. We moved to Muncie for the sole purpose of my daughter being able to attend Inspire Academy, and we are more than satisfied with our experience at this school.

Inspire Academy - A School of Inquiry began this past year, in 2013. I have seen amazing growth in the past few months, from my own daughter, as well as the staff and student body. The school leaders, teachers, and staff have worked incredibly hard to establish a good foundation in Expeditionary Learning. My daughter is so excited about the subjects she is learning about and she loves all of her teachers. She was not challenged in our public school, which is why we changed schools. I am pleased with her development. I love the hands-on approach, the field work and the way the classes engage with community experts. The culture is academically focused, but I also appreciate the emphasis on citizenship, diversity, character and ethics, and the arts. We are enrolled for next year and my youngest will be starting Kindergarten at Inspire in the fall. The school is in an old school building that was recently renovated (and still under construction), so there is a lack of polish in the facilities, communication and operations at times. I expect these rough spots will smooth out as the school grows and resources increase. I highly recommend Inspire Academy. We are crew, not passengers.

Inspire Academy- A school of Inquiry, It has been rough as a parent to let go of the public schooling but thankfully Inspire Academy has grown on me, as well as the Leader and the teachers. I am excited to see what next years hold.

Both of my sons really enjoy the environment and learning style at Inspire, the teachers are very involved with each child's learning, they are definitely given the attention that they need and deserve. My children had gone to south view before Inspire and there is no comparison, they are now being taught accountability , empathy, how to be a true beneficial part of city, respect plus the general educational curriculum. We had so many issues before with uncaring, hateful teachers that I had almost given up on the educational system until we found inspire! My oldest is a top reader in his class and they both love attending school now, when the weekend is over they are actually excited to return to school, it has been a true blessing for Inspire to come to Muncie!

Inspire Academy really is gifted education for all students! Students are encouraged to do their best work, given opportunities to excel and hold each other to high standards! I love starting my days at Inspire Academy. The camaraderie among parents and students is unlike anything I've experienced before!

Inspire Academy is amazing. The faculty and staff are committed to doing whatever it takes for our students to be successful. We are an Expeditionary Learning school, so our students conduct regular field work outside of the classroom and create real products for real people.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

Oops! We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Public and charter school test scores for most states come from the state Department of Education. The most common reasons we might not have this data are either that not enough students took the test or that the school was recently opened, and its scores have not yet been reported.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
