The teachers here are wonderful, just very understanding and take time to listen to your concerns. The class sizes are smaller here and provide a very safe environment.

The level of communication at this school is very good. I was very comfortable with my child's small class sizes and the one on one relationship she shared with her teachers.

They have all the right features, and curriculum in place to set your child up for success here. Starting with the small class sizes, friendly staff, warm nurturing environment it is a great combination for a school to have. We are grateful to have found such a wonderful place for our children to attend.

This school is what charter schools should be. The traditional high schools don't work for everyone. This school brings out the best for every student. Suddenly they believe in themselves and stop expecting failure. I thought my son was "lost" to education. He'll be graduating from college next fall. Most of that credit goes to Options.

This brings a very innovative high school option to Hamilton County. An excellent staff, community-based curriculum and an outstanding mentor program are just three of the components that make this school an attrative choice.

Our son is a Junior at Options this year. He was at HSE High for fresh and soph. Those were two very frustrating years for us!! HSE is a fine school for kids who are gifted academically and don't need any help. If, however there are some issues that need to be handled for your child to succeed the teachers and staff just don't have time to give any kind of individual attention. Options has been a godsend to our family. Our son is getting the great grades now that we always knew he was capable of. With just 130 students in the whole school and 12 kids per class, no one gets left behind. Another great thing is they provide busing. Usually unheard of from a Charter. Thanks for giving me the oportunity to Rate this great school.

Not perfect, but a caring atmosphere has done wonders for my son. Great technology and strong leadership.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Indiana used the End-of-Course (ECA) assessment to test students in middle and high school in Algebra I, Biology I, and English 10. The ECA is a criterion-referenced assessment developed specifically for students completing their instruction in Algebra I, Biology I, or English 10. The goal is for all students to score at the passing level on the test.

About the tests

Indiana uses the A through F School Grading System to assess the overall performance of a school. In addition, high schools were graded on four-year (on-time) graduation rates and college and career readiness indicators including Advanced Placment exam results and industry certification exam results.

Our rating (from 1 to 10) reflects a school's overall performance. The higher the rating, the more likely the school will prepare your child for the future, so choose an above-average school (8-10) if possible. For average schools (4-7), do careful research and look for evidence that the school has high-quality programs. For below-average schools (1-3), take caution; a low-performing school may not provide the instruction or environment your child needs to learn, and you may need to supplement classroom lessons at home.

Academic rating

The academic rating is made up of equally-weighted parts: students' test scores, their academic growth (for elementary and middle schools) and their readiness for college (for high schools). The graphs below compare this school's results in each area to other schools in the city and state. Growth and college readiness ratings are coming soon, pending publication of 2012 data.
