I have found the teachers to be very competent and I found that it was my communication skills/or lack there of~ that caused misunderstandings and unresolved issues. I have always been able to access the principal when needed. Her education apparently qualifies her for her position, and allthough she is opinon full, which doctors actually know our children better than us as parents. Hiper active kids need to be kept interested and challenged.... thats also why they are called children. If you are unhappy with whats happening in the school system.. than get involved. One more note: local principals have to follow board guidelines, sometimes even their hands are tied on decisions.
I could not agree more with the negative reviews. The school does have some great teachers, but the system is broke and the school is a zoo!!! The school needs real leadership. The principal does think she is a doctor/psychologist/counseler/elementary school principal hybrid. Very opinionated. I would not recommend this school and it's a shame because there are some great teachers there.
My child is in Kindergarten and the Principal told me that she thinks my daughter has add and need to be medicated. When did an Elementary Principal become a doctor? The all day Kindergarten program is a joke. The kids go to school for 7 hrs a day (6 hrs on Tuesdays) and still come home with at least 30 minutes of home work a night. Its Kindergarten! We are very unhappy with this school and believe they try to find a 'problem' with all the children so they can get more money for the state.
My son learned very little and did not get the help he needed because of the class size being too large. I also feel there were unfair biases to my son because of an inexperienced teacher. The school system never should have closed the Baxter school!
