This school would get a much higher rating if it were not for the principal Karen Brown. Any interaction you have with Karen you can expect to be met with condescension and an utter disregard for any and all concerns you may have. This school is notorious for ostracizing special needs children and refusing to make appropriate accommodations for gifted students. My children have gone to RES West for 4 years and I have personally seen a teacher scream profanities at a special needs boy. Another special needs child was in need of extra help and Karen Brown told the mother of the child that they were not interested in having "that kind of student" and forced her to withdraw in the middle of the school year. My children will no longer be attending RES West
