Western is a great school with great teachers. It has a reputation for breeding very "smart kids". I know many teachers personally. Athletics are wonderful as are the coaches and voluteers. However, if your child struggles at all, they will have a hard time. If you are smart and easy to teach, you will be golden. Otherwise, you won't have a chance. If you have a child like this, you will have to look outside of the school for tutoring and help. Teachers are much too busy to give a lot of one on one, and they have no patience or time for difficult kids. This is no less true at Western Primary then it is anywhere else. That is why I give the school three stars. It's not always the teachers fault. They are under extreme amounts of pressure as well, and they don't always agree with how things are "supposed" to be. We are experiencing this first hand with our youngest son. He is very intelligent and sweet, but he's "nothing like his older brother" who is so highly regarded (thank god). My youngest will always be at a disadvantage because my oldest casts such a huge shadow, through no fault of his own! It's just the way it is these days.

they are very slow for special education services and they are unwilling to allow accomidations for these types of children. they play nice up front but in the classroom with the children they single out those kids that are struggling and instread of helping keep hurting the children. my son loved to write and to start reading when he joined the school...now thanks to their non printing system and their strict i dont care policy on learning disabled my son hates to go to school... he begs not to write anything says he cant write, does not want to read says he cant. the kids pick on him and the teacher does nothing but send notes home and tell me he acts up in class, which if they gave him the appropriate education services for his disablitilty it would not be n issue... this school is only good enough for the smarter kids. if your kids need extra help avoid this school....

They are only willing to help certain children or certain families. My child is struggling and it has been a failure to get any assistance in direction to help her studies at home. I am very displeased by this school and will be removing my child as soon as possible!

The staff is rude and immature. Sure there are some great teachers, but good luck getting them. You have a better chance of getting a teacher who makes fun of students, parents, other staff - you name it. Horrible school!

I attended Western when I was a child & now my daughter goes there. It is the best school system in the county. The teachers are excellent and well educated. I'm very happy that my daughter enjoys Western as much as I did.
