Profile Completeness

INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

1. FIGHTS It was mentioned in one of the previous reviews that there were fights EVERY DAY. That is a complete lie, and it isn't just a small exaggeration. While at grimmer, there was a fight every day for about a week towards the end of the year. There were only two weeks like that, and it was instantly FIXED BY THE STAFF by threatening to take away the Eighth Grade Rewards Dance (A.K.A. Grad/Graduation) for those who were suspended because of an act of violence towards another student. Of course, fights only took place among the eighth graders... But overall, my graduate class was a BAD EXAMPLE to set for the lower class-men. In seventh grade we had a couple fights... And something else but I'll talk about that momentarily. My class was a bad example, and I hope no other classes end up as awful as our group.

I am currently an 8th grader at Grimmer, and since I started here, everything went downhill. First off, there is absolutely no school-spirit anymore. Spirit week, NJHS/student council events, extra curriculars, and just fun things that students can do... No one participates. For instance, we had a food drive, and only like, 200 cans were brought in, as opposed to the 6,000 that were brought in earlier years. Also, a lot of the students are horrible. There's a fight at least everyday, lots and lots of bullying and drama... And the teachers don't really do anything to stop it. Nor do the counselors. Speaking of the teachers, once you reach 7th grade, they're medicore. I did not learn anything from my 7th grade classes, only to be stuck with even worse teachers (minus my social studies and math teacher), in 8th grade. We get an unbelieveable amount of homework, and the teachers don't seem like they really want to be there, a lot of them. Finally, the cafeteria food is disgusting. There's stuff that looks like cat food and just... Bring your own lunch, please. See, I know I only explained the cons of this school, but that is because in my opinion, the bad outweighs the good.

I have had 3 kids go through Grimmer and all have had a great experience. They offer great Merit and Advanced coursework, which will prepare them well to enter into High School and continue on to take Advanced and AP classes there. Most of the teachers are hard-working and show they care about the students and their success. Finally, the administration is also is very involved with the students and help to make the overall atmosphere of the school uplifting and a positive learning environment. They manage to have some fun with the student body with special assumblies and fund-raising activities (ie. student/staff basketball game and bean bag tourney) along with offering appropriate discipline to ensure all student's safety and well-being.

Grimmer is a GREAT middle school, academically speaking. Best test scores in the area, and a phenomenal MERIT program. My kids have both excelled. Teachers seem to care about the children's education (of course, there are exceptions!) and it shows!

This is a great school. This is by far the best middle school in the township. The teachers are good and the principals are hard-works. The students come away perpared for the future. I am so glade that both my kids are going to Grimmer Middle School

I go to Grimmer now and i'm a 7th grader there and it has really made me a different person ever since i moved here to Indiana. my mom always tells me that my brother and i are getting a better education here. i have to say the halls aren't the same anymore since almost all the students went to the new middle school, Clark, and alot of us really miss them. i say Grimmer is an ok school.

My grandson just started attending Grimmer this year. What caring teachers! I wish that my children had a school of this caliber to attend when they were young. Kudos to Grimmer staff and teachers!

Its a nice school! great education and everything! but it's a bit gloomy, and dark. Other than that, i love it. My children are very well educated.

I would just like to say that our experience at Grimmer has been quite negative. The principal and vice principal do not incorporate appropriate disciplinary actions, that is why there is choas in the halls and classrooms. I feel sorry for any child who has to attend this school.
