Profile Completeness

INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

my kids were on the waiting list for this school due to this school being smaller and not just another big public school to get lost in. they needed more one on one from teachers. their grades went up here..not they were terrible but communication with parents and teachers for us has been right on which has allowed us to know what is going on or not going on... this school has worked for us. i never hear ..we just dont have the time. .there have been some behavior issues out of other students but i dont hear of many kids like i did at their past school. and if i contact a teacher over it ..well it has been taken care of that day. very thankful to have found this school

I like the school as far as the academics go but there is way to much bullying that goes on in the school. I don't understand why no disciplinary action is ever taken . My daughter and nephew both have told me on several occasions about kids being bullied. This really needs to be addressed!

The academics are terrible. The extra-curricular opportunities are ok if you mean basketball, but don't expect to win. Basketball is much more important here than education. The administration is very rude to students, teachers, and parents unless they are wealthy. If you have an above average income, your children will be treated like royalty. The administration undermines the authority of the teachers so that there can be no discipline or control of a classroom. This makes it impossible to educate.

I am a former graduate of the school from way back in the 80's, as well as a current parent of 2 students. The school has invested alot of their love and time in all 3 of us! The difference you feel is with the teachers, you get a real feeling of caring for every student. In reply to July07 about the school pushing their doctrine I disagree. The school only teaches the truth of the Bible and encourages students to READ it for themselves so they will know what they believe themselves! This is what I was taught, and what my kids are being taught. Why did you enroll your child in a Christian school if you didn't expect to have Bible study? As for the kids behavior, the school does not claim to take the place of parents in raising your kids, so we as parents should teach them!

I transferred my child to this school from public school. I like the smaller class sizes and their willingness to work with your child, academically and behaviorally. I used to feel like my child was just a number in the public school system. There was no communication with parents unless the parent initiated it. At RCCA, I always know how my child is doing (sometimes to the point of being too much information, if that is possible). I recommend this school to parents who feel their child needs a little extra guidance and attention.

Academics much better than public school attended. There is a great opportunity for advancement of advanced students. Test scores of the advanced students who have gone to this school their whole lives are very high - in the top 1 to 10 percent nationally.

The percentage of special needs students at Rock Creek is much higher than that of the public school. There are also honors classes and dual credit classes available at Rock Creek for the honors students.

We were promised a lot of things when we enrolled. We found the academics to be lacking and the high school was just as bad, if not worse, than many public schools. The school takes kids who have been expelled rom other schools, which creates all sorts of problems.

I have kids graduate from Restoration. The academics are horrible. My kids where not prepared for college in anyway. And they where on high honor roll. To pay for this kind of education was a big mistake. They try to push their doctrine on your kids. Bible class is a joke it does not support what the kids are learning at home. Don't waste your money this is not quality education by any means.

I am a former student of Restoration Christian for only 2 weeks, and I agree with August 2005. I am a Type One Diabetic and had only had the diabetes for about a year when I went to Restoration Christian. They were SUPPOSE TO help me with school life. Yeah right, like that EVER happened. The entire school was like one BIG click. While I am female, they boys were a LOT nicer than the girls. I have never seen more rude people(students and some personel) in my entire 15 years of living. They say that it is a CHRISTIAN school, yeah right, and the entire world is at peace. The girls in my class, which was the 7th grade class, cursed like I have heard only adults and/or older teens curse. As far as discipline for running in halls and the cursing, NOTHING. Maybe a 'No Running in the Halls' from a staff member, but that's it. I WOULD NOT recommend Restoration. Even my doctor said I would be better off home schooled, and she is all for going to school. If I had been pulled out, I would have ended up in the hospital.

This school has forever changed my school for the worst. They protect their own and turn their backs on everyone else. They teach about God, but do not live by what they say and have made my child question the concept of God. Please don't let them hurt your child.

Restoration is a very good school. Especially if you are looking for teacher to student ratio. If you want a school who is really involved in your at home business this will be a perfect school for you.

I sent my son to Restoration because in public school he was doing very poorly and was not learning how to read. At Restortion, he was put into the resource room for one year and taught how to read. He is now on the honor roll. He is happier than he has ever been. Now, he loves going to school.
