silver creek primary is a great school, they have many great teachers, and wonderful staff! we choose to come here as an out of district transfer, and i couldn't be happier for my sons experiences these last 2 years, i am looking forward to another 2 amazing years with my incoming kindergartner! the only downfalls, in my opinion, are the lack of parental involvement, out of the 487 students in the 1012-2013 school year, there were less then 10 regularly involved parents in the PTO.

Even though my child is now in the elementary school, his two years and SCP helped him to move even closer to his successes! His teachers and their dedication to each student was reflected when my child told me he wanted to bring all teachers he had in two years to the elementary school with him. KUDOS to all teachers and staff for all hard work, dedication, and diligence from a very grateful mom.

this principal has got to go. Not only does she refuse to give you your childs name but has forced several teachers to take jobs elsewhere. She does not allow birthday celebrations like the other schools and has the worst before and after school Ipickup I have ever seen. I would like this school as the teachers are great but every one of them talk about how evil and power wanting this principal is.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

The test results by subgroup show how the designated group of students is performing in comparison to the general population.
  • In 2011-2012, this school received a grade of "B".
  • This school did not receive a grade in 2010-2011.
  • This school did not receive a grade in 2009-2010.

About the tests

Indiana uses the A through F School Grading System to assess the overall performance of a school. For the 2011-2012 school year, schools were graded based on performance and participation levels in state standardized tests and student growth using the Indiana Growth Model. In addition, high schools were graded on four-year (on-time) graduation rates and college and career readiness indicators including Advanced Placment exam results and industry certification exam results.

Our rating (from 1 to 10) reflects a school's overall performance. The higher the rating, the more likely the school will prepare your child for the future, so choose an above-average school (8-10) if possible. For average schools (4-7), do careful research and look for evidence that the school has high-quality programs. For below-average schools (1-3), take caution; a low-performing school may not provide the instruction or environment your child needs to learn, and you may need to supplement classroom lessons at home.

Academic rating

The academic rating is made up of equally-weighted parts: students' test scores, their academic growth (for elementary and middle schools) and their readiness for college (for high schools). Unfortunately, this school doesn't have sufficient data to generate an academic rating.
