Riley is a great school. People complain that the teachers are the problem. The students are the problem. I graduated with several students that went to Notre Dame, one that went to Harvard, and another went on to be a student at the West Point Military Academy. I currently am attending a major university and will graduate in the next year. If a student didn't do well in the school then it is that student's fault. This is the same in all schools. Any student can get straight A's if they try hard enough. If they want to be lazy then that is their issue. Don't knock the school down just because your kid was too lazy to get the work done.

Most of the students at Riley set their goals high and there are people that want to learn, but in every program their are some bad eggs and unfortunatly Riley is known for those people. Kids actually do get along when it comes to diversity. Go Wildcats!

My daughter attended Riley for 9-10. At present, I am pulling her to send her to another school. Not only is the administration at Riley pathetic, very few of the teachers take the time to help when it is requested. I am active in knowing what my child is learning, but instead of getting assistance, I get shunned. Administration never returns phone calls. I cannot blame it solely on Riley, it goes deeper, as the entire SBCSC is in a terrible state of disarray. All of this has happened in the past year at Riley, possibly the other high schools. If you have the option, just send your child elsewhere.

Riley has been a horrble experience for me. I feel like i don't belong and the teachers really don't care. The student services department, overall, is pretty good...if you know them well. The students are reckless and to be plain and simple uncaring. While the school is diverse, racial relationships, in my opinion, needs MUCH improvement. There are still problems with race and it's very uncomfotable. I hate to say I even go to this school. It's been nothing more than a thorn peircing me in the side. Both of my parents attended the school in the late '70s and early '80s and liked it. The school has changed dramatically.I DON'T recommend this school, personally.

Despite the first review, I think that Riley is a wonderful school. Compared to other schools in the area, Riley is the place to be! Yeah, Riley is brand new and looks good on the outside, but the students and excellent teacher staff is what really makes the school what it is. I would give Riley a blue ribbon because they deserve it! s.l.c C/O 2003

Riley is an extremely wild and unsafe school. Many of the teachers lack overall enthusiasm and general morale. Sure, the facilities may be new, but they are deteriorating at a fast pace. I don't know how a Blue Ribbon was won. All high school students must go through a rought social path, but here it's extremely hard. Riley needs to improve back to the school it once was.

Their advance placement programs prepared me for Notre Dame. I am a 1993 graduate, and am proud to be a Wildcat!
