The school may be good, but the students are not so nice. We transferred to this school, and they are not welcoming. They pick on people, bully them and tease them for their accents. When i ask for help from the teachers they tell me to go back and try again, without explaining things to me. As a transfer student, we haven't covered some of these things yet in my old school, but I am supposed to figure it out here.

Both of my children attended Honey creek and I firmly believe that they received an education that compares to any school in the nation. The teachers care about the kids and the parents are heavily involved.

This is the one of the best schools in the nation. The academics are well-organized and I find it challenging for someone like me. Both of my parents, my aunts, uncles, and two sisters have all graduated from this wonderful middle school. I do, however, wish that there were more clubs instead of so many sports options.

Both my son and daughter were graduated from this school. I believe that this school has one of the top acamdemic program includeing math, science and english in the nation. My son is a second year medical school student after he graduated from Caltech. My dauther is a freshman at the Princeton University at the age of 16. Their academic fundation was built from this school's education. Parents are very involved with the school's program.

This middle school consistently wins all of the regional academic competetions (math counts, spell bowl, etc) and frequently band competitions as well. My daughter would be top of her class anywhere else in town but here she is one of many bright students and feels challenged. I have been impressed by the course offerings, including algebra for high school credit, and enough exposure to computers to have learned to type.

I have one son in 6th grade at Honey Creek. This school seems to be right on in so many areas. I am disappointed in the amount of extra-curricular activities. I would like to see additional sports added at this level. I would also like to see the beginning of some clubs. My huge disappointment is there is no foriegn language offered. It should begin in elementary but at the least in Middle School. Vigo County kids have to wait and struggle through in high school when it is much more difficult for them to catch on and become fluent. It should at least be offered as an enrichment type elective.

In addition, high schools were graded on four-year (on-time) graduation rates and college and career readiness indicators including Advanced Placment exam results and industry certification exam results.

Our rating (from 1 to 10) reflects a school's overall performance. The higher the rating, the more likely the school will prepare your child for the future, so choose an above-average school (8-10) if possible. For average schools (4-7), do careful research and look for evidence that the school has high-quality programs. For below-average schools (1-3), take caution; a low-performing school may not provide the instruction or environment your child needs to learn, and you may need to supplement classroom lessons at home.

Academic rating

The academic rating is made up of equally-weighted parts: students' test scores, their academic growth (for elementary and middle schools) and their readiness for college (for high schools). The graphs below compare this school's results in each area to other schools in the city and state. Growth and college readiness ratings are coming soon, pending publication of 2012 data.
