Jefferson Elementary School

We have two children at Jefferson and are very happy there. The teachers and principal (Mr. Duncan) truly care about students, are open to suggestions, and do their very best each day. The only thing I wish is that there would be more parent involvement, however, many students come from families with 2 working parents, which makes involvement more difficult.

Jefferson Elementary School really makes a difference for the children and families in our community. It offers not only excellent academic instruction but high quality enrichment programs outside of the school day. The principal, Mr. Duncan and the staff are welcoming and have a high level of professionalism. Any questions I've had have been answered in a timely manner. Maybe the most important thing of all is that my daughter loves to go to school.

As a support staff member, I am honored to work alongside this group of very dedicated, caring teachers. I see them going "above and beyond" on a daily basis. They are creative and innovative as they seek to make the learning environment exciting and challenging for their students. Our principal is also amazing--firm yet completely engaging. The kids adore him! Jefferson is literally surrounded by Grace College, allowing education majors and others the opportunity to assist in an elementary school environment. Our students greatly benefit from the extra attention, especially in areas of one-on-one help. My own children were all Jefferson Spartans, so I have the unique, dual perspective of being a [former] school parent and an employee. I would not have chosen any other elementary experience for my family, and I continue to enjoy my own "elementary experience" every day when I come to work.

I moved to area in 2007 from a big city and was a little apprehensive. My son attended a private school the first year and then switched to Jefferson in 2008. Our experience at Jefferson has been great! The teachers are awesome, the staff is great and Mr. Duncan is the best principal!

I have 2 children with Autism that go to Jefferson School. The Staff there is great! They have been so helpful and patient with my kids. My son could go to Madison since its his home school but the support I'm getting from Jefferson I just couldn't risk losing. Great school!!
