Rivermont Collegiate is a school where there are no spectators, only participants! Rivermont helps students develop intellect, character, and creativity. The teachers are dedicated, caring, and work on developing the whole child. The parents are involved and supportive. The students love school and strive to exceed all expectations. Rivermont is truly a school in which all other schools should try to emulate.
Rivermont is a great school. My two children graduated from there and have excelled in their freshman year at college due to the great preparation they recieved at Rivermont. No one falls thru the cracks, every student is an individual and teachers know each student well and teach to their learning styles. Intellectual activity is COOL at RVMT!!
This is - in my opinion - the best high school in the quad city area for these reasons: -many ap courses offered - #1 on the iowa ap index -challenging curriculum - I have been pushed in every area since I've started attending rivermont -I feel well prepared for college, and have amazing standardized test scores thanks to the time I've spent at rivermont. -I've had the opportunity to participate in varsity basketball, and cross country, an option I might not have had at a public school. Great school, great classes, great faculty!
Our daughter has been going to Rivermont since she was in pre-school. She is now in 8th grade, and we would not be their if the school was not fantastic! The students are encouraged to meet or exceed their potential. The parents are treated with respect and are encourged to be a part of the school. Though we pay for the public schools with our taxes, we would never consider sending our daughter to a public school. Rivermont students all score very high on the Iowa Basic Skills test. It is important to know that the teachers do not teach to the test, they just teach the students very well and this shows on all the tests. Rivermont is a school that is worth spending the money on because it will prepare your child for college. That is something that I can not say about the other schools in the area
I've been a student here sine kindergarden. It is absolutely amazing. Many people say that going to a public school, at least for high school, is better because then the student will have an easier time adjusting to large classes in college. This is not the case. No matter what school a student goes to, the jump to college will be big. So if a student can't be prepared for the large size, why not be prepared for the rigorous academics? Rivermont can, and does do that. I absolutely love going to Rivermont. Through the small class sizes, there are a lot of opportunities available. For example, I take chinese and I am the only chinese student at a Quad City high school. Rivermont allowed, and encouraged me to take chinese despite the fact that I would be the only student. Rivermont is a definite yes.
At Rivermont, students inspire your creativity, parents trust your expertise, colleagues support your craft, and administration encourages your professional growth. Therefore, I am able to confidently teach individuals, not just classes.
My children have attended Rivermont for several years. Smaller class sizes and a dedicated teaching staff make it possible for the children to be treated as individuals and reach their full potential. There is no 'one size fits all' at Rivermont.
Great school! Lots of things to learn. Small school. Good kids. You could get into alot of nice colleges......
