Herbert Hoover Elementary School

We, as parents, are grateful for the opportunity our daughter had to attend this school. Due to frequent moves we have experienced several elementary schools and Herbert Hoover sets the bar very high for the others. The personal interaction cannot be duplicated. Our daughter was not only taught the basics of education but her self-esteem was raised from being part of this community. The principal knows, and cares for, each child in his building. The parking situation left something to be desired but he made sure to address that issue too. A small issue in the scheme of things when educating a child but he saw the safety issue involved. Mrs. McAnally is an educator that changed our daughters entire outlook on school. Thank you. Hoover will be greatly missed.

The 2007-2008 school year is the first year at Hoover for two of my children. Thus far, we are very impressed and have very few complaints. Jeff Johannson is an excellent principal and really has his act together. Only compaint...would like to see stronger emphasis on phonics in the lower grades.

My son attends the Early Childhood Special Education Program at Hoover. I'm very impressed by the attentive and supportive nature of his teachers all the way up to the principal. The principal is a very involved man that seems to really, sincerely know and care about each of his students, even down to the preschool level. This is a great school, even when compared to Paul Norton which seems to have lived out it's reputation as the best!

All 4 of my children have gone to Hoover and it has been a great experience. Jeff Johannson is a very good principal.
