The teachers at Colo Elementary school have many years of experience as teachers and are very creative. Your child will have a sound education at Colo Elementary school. The teachers do a great job with the limited resources they have to work with. Children participate in music and art weekly. Kids World, is a new afterschool enrichment program offered through the school two days a week. The Colo community has an elementary afterschool reading program once a week through the local library, soccer, t-ball, pee wee baseball, boy and girl scouts, and 4H readily available for K-4th graders to participate in. When asked, parents in the community are willing to provide resources to the school and help out as needed. Parents are becoming more involved. In January 2007 the Colo Nesco PTA was officially formed.
We recnetly moved from the state of RI. This is my son's first year attending this school in the second grade, he loves it. His classmates are all kids who live in the community and with only one 2nd grade class he feels that he is special. Mrs. Williams is an outstanding teacher who makes me aware of my son's progress on a weekly basis. He is doing great and all children are treated the same. Go Royals!
My son has attended three different schools between kindergarten and third grade. He loves this school. His class is comprised of approximately 21 kids, a great improvement over past schools. He gets one-on-one attention, and we are extremely grateful for that! He feels more valuable as a person, and his teacher is not overwhelmed by a large class. His teacher is great! She communicates with parents on a weekly basis about class progress, as well as individual progress. We have moved from a large Iowan city to a medium city, and finally to a small town. I can definitely say that we are more pleased with the small town's school than with any other school system in our state! The sense of community is very strong here, and every child counts. What a great example to set for our children! Thanks, Colo-Nesco!
