Google ACT results for 2012 and you will see that St. Alberts had the highest scores in the area and outscored state average. 99% of students graduate and 96% go on to college based on 5 year averages. I met two new teachers who had been teaching 20 years in local public schools and were burned out. They have been rejuvenated teaching in the disciplined and respectful culture of St. Alberts. The new school president had a successful career managing Fortune 500 companies and is bringing his skills to St. Alberts. This is already a very good school... and it is getting even better.
If you are seeking the best high school in Co. Bluffs, this is your only option. The education follows a college prep trac, but is mediocre at best. Grades have always been catered to local large Catholic families, with deep charitable pockets. Many students scoring well at St. Albert's, never graduate from college. If you value your kid's education, expect this school to meet only the most basic needs. Many students are not challenged, and many fall behind. Don't expect the attention necessary to catch them up. It is a survival of the fittest nature as most public schools are. Teacher quality reflects low pay. Limited private/religious funds=limited programs. Strongest leadership is religious. You could save your money for college and do just as well with public options, if you are very vigilant, and promote positive high expectations for your child. Former Student/Successful College Graduate, and Proud Graduate of an Omaha, NE private school. I am the proud parent of a successful public school student, currently.
The dedication to the students and their success is No 1! I couldn't be more pleased with my boys development!
