We enjoyed our time at Trinity while I was at school, and we regret having to move on. The staff worked well together like a team, the active congregation supported the school and there was a seamless flow in worship life from church end to school end. The teachers were devoted and all had great skill with the children.
I started my daughter at Trinity and she took 2 years at the preschool level and is enrolled for Kindergarten this upcoming year. We had many issues at our public school with our son who went to public in Kindergarten and 1/2 of 1st grade. We transfered him after Christmas break and he learned more in 2 weeks at Trinity than he ever learned in public school! Public school had him in a class of 22 other kids and Trinity had 2 classes of 1st graders with 11 in each. This allowed much one on one time and he excelled. I love Trinity, I love the teachers, the principle, the office staff and the students! Both of my children will continue their education at Trinity until 8th grade.
Unlike the other reviews, ours is quite negative. We had great difficulty with the staff and interim principal concerning a fatal health issue. Since they are a private school, they are somewhat above having to comply with proper regulations that ensure the safety of students. I'd say they are very poorly educated on how to respond to the individual needs of students. It is ironic because we believed that a Christian School would have more concern than a public school. That was very wrong!! We've had a great experience with Public School!!
My 8 year old daughter has been going here since she was 5 and we couldn't have asked for a better school. Unfortunately, we are moving out of town so we will have to give it up, but if there was a way to take the school and church with us, we would. From the Pastors and Principals to the teachers and substitutes, they were all superb in their jobs. Academics are great, there are plenty of school outings and activities, and it's all set on a Christian foundation. You couldn't find better for your child.
I think Trinity is a great school and they do a very good job teaching the children. My daughter loves to learn about God.
We started with Trinity Lutheran School in Pre-School. The faith building that our children received has been awesome. The families we met also have been a very positive experience. The ability for this school to get families wanting to be involved has been a great asset of Trinity Lutheran School, Davenport, IA. The staff( teachers, office staff, cleaning crew, and volunteers at the school are very involved with the children and their families. The many activities that are available(i.e. team sports, family sports, student council activities, and more) keep the student team building ongoing through out the school year. The education our two children received have put them a step ahead as they enter high school and the 'real world'. I thank all those who kept their true interest in our children and wish the best for the future of those who attend Trinity Lutheran School, Davenport, IA
Great school for students to learn the reading, writing, mathematics and science, in addition to the Word of God and its application. Parental involvement is encouraged. ITBS scores and extral-curricular activities are outstanding.
This is not just a school where parents rush them into school and forget about their children - this is a school where parents are deeply involved (and are encouraged to do so!) in helping out at the school and with the teachers. I love Trinity! I couldn't say enough good things about it!
