The teachers and staff work to help each individual child to reach their potential. They talk to the kids about life and the world around them so they are ready to be citizens. Whether it is understanding cultures or math, the kids are ready for high school when they leave St. Joseph's school.
St. Joe's is the only Catholic school for the fast growing north & east Polk county. Students attend from Des Moines & 8 suburban towns, covering 6 school districts. Every student takes Spanish language class twice a week. The basketball teams (boys & girls) routinely finish in the upper echelons of the Parochial Basketball League. 8th grade students have participated in the Stock Market Game, sponsored by the University of Northern Iowa, since 1993. They have numerous regional 1st place finishes, & were the state champions in 1998.
