Smouse is a special education facility, and has an early childhood program housed there as well. It is a school of team decision rather than a neighborhood school, serving students with behavioral, emotional, and intellectual disabilities. The staff is second to none in caring about their students, and academics are infused into every aspect of education. An extensive on site support staff provides medical and behavioral support, and parents love the opportunities their students get here that they would not have at their neighborhood schools.

I attended Smouse School from 1937--1946.Then I attended East High School and graduated June 1950. If it had not been for Smouse School I might not have had a good education. It is a great school. I will be 80 yrs old in May.

I went to this school in the mid/late 1960's. Had a great teacher named Mrs. Pradioux. (Not sure how it was spelled). From there I went to public schools, college, and two master's degrees. I'm now the director of a college in OKC.
