This is an excellent faith based education with tremendous dedication by its administrators and teachers. A testament to their credit is the placement of so many quality individuals that go on to upper education and/or become leaders and successful contributors in the communities that they eventually reside (especially Ft Dodge). They place a strong emphasis on community involvement and extracurricular activities in addition to academics. The students (and parents) are given individual attention both inside and outside of school. Tuition assistance is available, and tuition in general is much less than most private schools in large urban areas that we have previously lived. The school also utilizes a sharing system where their students are able to benefit from some of the unique opportunities made available at the nearby public HS (ie certain foreign languages, shop classes, special ed, college credit courses), that would not be otherwise made available. They also make accommodations for IEP's and 504's. In all, a very positive, safe, and wonderful school from Kindergarten through 12th grade.

Great school if you are just looking to put your kids in a private institution. Terrible school if you are looking to values in addition to education for your kids.

My son is in 6th grade and we started at St.Edmonds when he was in Kindergarten. I have so far liked each teacher and staff member my son has had. We aren't catholic, but I love the reinforcement that the kids receive. The discipline is excellent...something the kids really learn from. My son has some special needs and they have been awesome in helping him achieve his goals. My hat is off to them...wouldn't change for anything!

I have a daughter in 1st grade and her second year at St.Ed's. I love that the teachers make learning so exciting, the fact that so many parents get involved , and the discipline used with the kids. I am disappointed that tag is not available.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
